CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
Lucky awakens on the floor next to Elizabeth’s bed, where he had fallen asleep the night before just as Faison enters with his guards.
"Session time Mr. Spencer," Faison grins. "I’ll try to have you back before she awakens, I promise you."
Looking one last time at Elizabeth, he allows the guards to lead him out of the room and back to the room he had spent most of the day in yesterday.
"Now, let us start where we left off," Faison grins as the door is once again locked to prevent any escape.
Eight hours later Faison returns Lucky back to his room fully re-educated on the history of the world as he knew it. Nothing was like it used to be for Lucky. Everything was new to him. Everything except for his love for Elizabeth.
"Lucky?" Elizabeth gets off the bed and goes to him immediately.
"Protect your queen Lucky," Faison smiled, Lucky just smiles and nods in agreement and goes back staring at Elizabeth.
"Protect your queen? What does that mean?" Elizabeth asked, confused.
"Nothing important," Lucky kisses her tenderly. "Nothing more important than you."
Elizabeth smiled, suddenly uncomfortable. What was going on? Where was Lucky for so long? What has Faison been doing to him? And why did Lucky suddenly seem almost friendly with Faison?
"Lucky…you’d tell me if Faison did something to you won’t you?" Elizabeth asked, looking deep in his eyes.
"Sure," Lucky nods. "No lies.
Remember?"
Elizabeth nods. "What went on with you two this morning?"
"Oh we just talked about the history of my family. Just stuff I knew already and a couple of things I didn’t. No surprise there huh?" Lucky releases her from his embrace and goes back to his bed. "You know Elizabeth…maybe bringing us here wasn’t a bad idea. Maybe it’s a good thing that we’re here and not in port Charles anymore."
"What? Lucky what are you saying? Port
Charles is our home. Our family and friends are in port Charles! How can you
say that it’s good that we’re not there anymore?"
Lucky shrugged, a troubled expression crossing his face, but it’s gone in a
microsecond. "I don’t know. I just meant that maybe we just needed this
time alone together. Just me and you…"
"And Faison and his goons," Elizabeth sighed, collapsing tiredly onto her bed, those hours of worrying about Lucky has taken their toll on her.
"Ah they’re not that bad," Lucky laughed nervously and leans back onto the bed.
"Lucky?" Elizabeth becomes more worried by the minute. This didn’t sound like Lucky at all. Usually he’d be chomping at the bit to go home and get away from Faison, but now…it’s like Faison’s becoming more a friend than a captor. What was going on?
"Hmmm?" Lucky looked up at her. "Did you say something?"
"No. nothing," Elizabeth mumbled, her face falling. There was something wrong here. Lucky didn’t seem himself. He seemed sort of spacey. Like he was there with her, yet he wasn’t.
"Elizabeth, I’m sorry," He’s suddenly off the bed and hugging her tightly. "What ever I did, I’m sorry."
"Oh Lucky. You didn’t do anything. It’s just that I’m so scared…I’m afraid of whatever Faison has planned and how it’s going to affect us."
"It won’t," Lucky tightens his embrace. "It won’t affect us Elizabeth. It can’t. I won’t let it."
"I hope so Lucky," Elizabeth sniffed, "I hope so."
Faison stares into the monitor frowning, not liking what he heard. Miss. Webber was indeed too smart for her own good. It sounded like she suspected something. Faison sighs in frustration as he knew that there was nothing he could do about it. His own strategy can be turned against him if he dared tried. No. Miss Webber could not come to any harm by his hands…not just yet anyway. He can only hope that she doesn’t find out his real scheme until it was too late.
