CHAPTER TWENTY
Lucky and Elizabeth dance through the twirling fog, oblivious to everything except each other. The future was so bright for them and so full of love and promise. Lucky pulls away from her and leads her over to a candle lit table, adorned with white roses. Elizabeth looks away for just a second to admire the setting, and when she turns around, Lucky’s gone. Nowhere to be found.
"Lucky!" She calls out through the fog, but there was no answer. Lucky was gone.
"Lucky!" Elizabeth bolts up in bed, looking around the room frantically. "Lucky! Where are you! Don’t leave me!"
"Elizabeth I’m right here," Lucky goes to her immediately and wraps his arms around her. "It’s okay sweetie. I’m right here."
"Oh Lucky it was horrible," Elizabeth cried, knowing that her recurring nightmare that she had when she had thought Lucky died has returned. But why? Why now? She knew that Lucky was alive and well. Sure they were in a bad situation, but Lucky was here with her. There was no reason for the dream to return.
"Want to talk about it?" Lucky pulls away from her and looks into her tear-filled eyes. "Sometimes talking about our nightmares can help."
Elizabeth sighed, looking away from him. "It’s the same recurring nightmare I had when you were first taken," Elizabeth gathers up her strength. This was not going to be easy. "We’re dancing to that one song they played at the bacchanalia that Stefan threw at Wyndemere. It was so beautiful Lucky. No one but me and you dancing. I was in a ball gown and you were in a tuxedo. No one existed but us. We stop dancing and you lead me to this beautiful table set for two with candles and white roses. I only look away from you for a second Lucky. I mean, what could happen in a second? I thought you were safe. But when I turn back to you…you’re gone. You’re gone and I’m alone. I look everywhere for you, but I can’t find you. You’re gone and I’m all alone!" Elizabeth breaks into renewed tears.
"Elizabeth, it was only a dream. I haven’t gone anywhere. I’m right here with you," Lucky pulls her back into her arms.
"I know that. But the dream…it’s so real. I can even feel your heartbeat and hear you breathing. And the music…it was so vivid."
"But it wasn’t real. Elizabeth, I’m right here and I’m not going anywhere. That dream doesn’t mean anything."
"Promise?" Elizabeth sniffed, wiping away her tears.
Lucky smiled and wipes away her tears just as Faison and a couple of guards enter the room.
"Mr. Spencer, we need you to come with us," Faison coldly stares at Lucky.
"No!" Elizabeth jumps up and stands in front of Lucky and Faison. "You can’t take him."
"May I remind young Spencer what the consequences are for resisting orders," Faison grins evilly over at Lucky. "We’d hate to have anything happen to the young lady, now wouldn’t we?"
Lucky glares at Faison, knowing that he had no choice. "It’s okay Elizabeth. I’ll be back. I promise."
"But Lucky…"
"Don’t worry. Everything’s going to be fine," Lucky pulls her into a tight hug. "I’ll be back."
"I love you," Elizabeth whispers in his ear before the guards force them apart.
Lucky just smiles at her, his answer shining in his eyes as the guards lead him out of the room, Faison leading the way. Alone, Elizabeth sinks down onto the bed, staring at the wall as the dream returns to her.
"Please let him come back," She begins to sob helplessly, wishing that they could go back home and forget about this ordeal.
Lucky is pushed roughly into a cold steel gray room with a chair, a television set, and other equipment setting in the center. Other than that, there is nothing else in the room.
"What is this place? Why did you bring me in here?" Lucky turns to face Faison once the guards had left, locking the door behind them.
"Have a seat Mr. Spencer," Faison motions towards the chair. "We have much to discuss."
"Like what?" Lucky glares at his captor. "What do you want with me?"
"All in due time Mr. Spencer. You’ll find that out all in due time. Now set. Relax. The sooner you obey, the sooner I’ll return you to the beautiful Miss. Webber. That is what you ultimately want isn’t it?"
Lucky never takes his eyes off Faison as he sets in
the chair. "If you or your guards even look at her I’ll…"
"Kill me. Yes, I’m quite familiar with that drill. Now, let’s begin our
session shall we?"
"You make it sound like you’re a shrink or something," Lucky rolled his eyes.
"If that’s how you want to think of me. That’s fine. But remember that I’m also the person that you obey. Is that clear?" Faison stands behind Lucky and roughly squeezes his shoulder. "There will be no warnings about the consequences of disobeying this time Lucky. You do as I say and your Miss. Webber is safe, and may even come to like it here. But disobedience will be dealt with immediately and punishment will be swift. I’m done coddling you like Helena did. Swiftness and strict policies are the only way to deal with a Spencer."
"And is that how you dealt with the Scorpios? Or was blowing them up on a boat policy?" Lucky glared up at Faison, knowing that he had hit a nerve by the look in his eyes.
Faison grabs Lucky by the collar of his shirt and pulls her so close to him that Lucky can feel Faison’s hot breath on his face. "Mention the Scorpios again boy and not only will your girlfriend pay the price but your precious sister as well. Do I make myself clear?"
Lucky’s eyes widen with the added threat towards Lulu. He quickly nods his head.
"Good," Faison let’s go of his shirt. "Now let us begin."
Faison turns on the television onto the streets of Port Charles. His plans are just beginning.
Five hours later…
Elizabeth curls up on the bed, her blankets curled up around her. Lucky’s been gone for so long, she’s thinking he may never come back. She wipes away a stray tear as the click of the lock resounds through the room. She gets to her feet just as the guards push Lucky into the room, Faison right behind him.
"Now that wasn’t so bad now was it?" Faison grins.
Lucky doesn’t answer. He just stares back at Faison. This brings a pleased grin to Faison’s face. Faison just laughs and exits the room, locking the door back behind him.
"Lucky!" Elizabeth runs to him and hugs him tightly. "You’re back! Where did they take you? Did they hurt you?" Elizabeth examines his face, and notices the vacant stare of his eyes.
"I’m fine," was all Lucky said, pulling away from Elizabeth. "I’m just tired." He walks towards his bed and immediately gets under the covers. In just two minutes he’s asleep, leaving Elizabeth to stand there gazing down at him.
Something was wrong. That was obvious. She had never seen Lucky looks so…emotionless before. His eyes always sparkled with emotion, whether it was anger, or love. But now…there was nothing. Nothing at all, like he had no emotions anymore. What did Faison do to him to cause that vacant stare?
"Oh Lucky what’s going on?" Elizabeth kneels down in front of him and strokes his hair. "What did they do to you?"
Lucky didn’t answer. He was sleeping peacefully, unaware of Elizabeth’s worries.
Faison stares into the monitor at his two captives and smiles. So far his plans were a success. Lucky’s love for Elizabeth was making it easier for Faison to gain control of Lucky’s mind. Soon enough, he’ll start the training that the boy will require to carry out Faison’s orders and then Robert Scorpio will pay for costing him Anna.
