CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Elizabeth yawns as she wakes up to see Lucky lying on his bed, staring blankly up at the ceiling. She lies there, studying his features, making sure that he was real. That she wasn’t alone in this nightmare.

"Lucky…"

"Elizabeth, do you still want to know about the past year? About everything that happened?" Lucky looks at her, tears clearly in his eyes. It’s obvious that he’s been thinking about this for a long while. He had decided that there was no choice anymore. He had to tell her about the past year…warn her of what Faison’s capable of. They were at ground zero now and it was too dangerous to let her go on not knowing their captor.

"You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to," Elizabeth sets up, wanting more than anything to talk about it, but not wanting to push.

"I do have to. I can’t let you live in ignorance of this guy now that he’s holding you captive too."

"Lucky are you sure? I mean you were so set against telling anyone when we were in Port Charles," Elizabeth walks to his bed and takes his hand.

"Well we’re not in port Charles anymore. Like I said before, we’re at ground zero and it’s for your own good that you know," Lucky sighed, clutching her hand tightly. "The only thing I wonder about is if you’ll want to be with me after you hear this…if this will come between us."

Elizabeth tenderly touches his cheek; her eyes filling with unshed tears. "Lucky, nothing can come between us. Nothing he could have done to you can make me stop loving you."

"But…"

"I love you Lucky. You have my heart and that’s a permanent lock," Elizabeth smiles tearfully. "Nothing can change that."

Lucky knew she was telling the truth. Just by looking into her eyes he can tell she meant every single word. The only problem was did he have the strength to tell her? Did he have enough courage to go through the whole horrible experience again?

"Lucky?"

"Ok. You might as well set down. This is going to take a while," Lucky sighed.

"Just take your time," Elizabeth sets down, but keeps hold of Lucky’s hand, reminding him that she’s with now. That he wasn’t alone.

"Well…when they first took me, everything was fine. I mean, I was alone for a while. It wasn’t until two days later that Faison came in to introduce himself. He was so smug Elizabeth. Smug and cold. He didn’t care that he was screwing up my life and what he was putting you and everyone else through. He told me that if I tried to escape…that you’d pay the price. But I had to try. I had to try to get back to you …at least let you know that I was still live. So as soon as I could, I grabbed his phone and tried to call you, but he had the phone rigged. I could hear you but you couldn’t hear me."

"That was you! I had gotten a phone call after the memorial service, but no one answered! Oh my god! If only I knew…"

"There was no way you could have known. You thought I had died in that bogus fire."

"Oh Lucky, I’m so sorry," Elizabeth looked away from him.

"Don’t be sorry Elizabeth. It’s not your fault. Like I said, there was no way you could have known that the fire was a set up."

"But still…I should have done something…something should have told me you were still alive…"

"Well nothing did. But anyway. He locked me back up again and warned me not to try anything like that again. So for a while, I didn’t. I just letted it all go. Five days later…Helena came into the picture. That was when I knew that the Spencer/Cassadine war was back on and this time…I was the pawn. I don’t know what Helena had planned for me and I still don’t. But I knew that Faison had his own agenda…just by the way he looked at me. But Helena, she stood between Faison and me. She wouldn’t let the man near me. It was like she was my protector as well as my captor as well. I can at least be thankful for that part of it anyway."

"What happened after Helena came?"

"Well she stayed for a while. Two weeks I think it was. Then she left. Said she had business to take care of in Port Charles. But in the mean time I was to be moved…overseas. I of course wasn’t aloud to see. I was drugged, and when I came to, I was in a different room. And two men were in there with me. Faison came through the door and told them that it was time. They could do to me whatever they wanted. Then he just smiled evilly at me and exited the room. I didn’t know what he meant by that…I didn’t know that he meant for them to do what they did."

"…What did they do?"

Lucky sighed as the memories came back, the horrible memories. It seemed just like yesterday.

"What are you looking at?" Lucky asked, hiding his fear. His father always told him never let the enemy see your fear. It’s the worst thing you could do because they feed on fear.

"You," one of the gaurds laughed. "Mr. Faison said we can do what ever we want when the old lady wasn’t around. So what is it that we want?"

"I say we beat the s*** out of him. The smart mouthed punk needs to be taught a lesson," A big burly guard smiled, hitting his hand with his fist.

"Well…we can do that. But you know guys; it’s been a long time since we’ve seen a woman. A job would be real nice. Don’t you think?" another guard steps closer to lucky who stares up at him with wide blue eyes, taking a step back against the wall.

"Sure he’s not a woman, but hey, beggers can’t be choosers." The guard laughed.

"Hey!" The first guard laughed. "We can do both! And Mr. Faison, he said that what ever we did, let him come down to watch. Remember? Derrick, go get him. Tell him the show is just beginning."
Lucky’s heartbeat quickens as it becomes apparent what was going to happen to him. He closes his eyes shut, hoping and praying to wake up from this nightmare and be back home again with his family.

Lucky buries his head in his hands, ashamed of admitting to what they had done to him. "It happened every time Helena left and everyday until she came back and Faison…he’d just stand there and watch. Not lifting a finger to help me. Worst, he told me that I like it. I liked being beaten and forced to go down on those perverts! I know I didn’t, but Faison…he kept saying I did and that when everyone found out…they’d hate me! They’d see me for the freak I really am!" Lucky was now in full tears, burying his face in his hands, certain that Elizabeth hated him for what happened. That surely she never wanted to be near him again. That’s why he’s so surprised when her arms go around him and she strokes his hair.

"It’s okay Lucky. It’s over now. And it wasn’t your fault. Those guards beated you until you had no choice but to give in to what they wanted. And Faison…he’s sick for allowing it to happen.

"I prayed that Helena would come back so it’d stop. It was always a relief when she did. God I hated her so much, but when she came back to the compound…that meant that I was safe from the guards."

"Did she know?"

"No. Of course not. Faison said that he’d go after you if I told her what happened. So I kept my mouth shut."

"Oh Lucky I’m so sorry!" Elizabeth cried. Lucky had been through hell and back all because of her. If it wasn’t for her, he could have told Helena and it would have stopped…or better yet, he could have escaped from that place a long time ago.

"It’s not your fault Elizabeth. None of it was your fault," Lucky pulls away from her arms and looks her in the eyes. "If anyone’s to blame it’s my father, but then again, it’s not his fault either."

Elizabeth is about to reply when the door slams open and three burly men appear in the doorway. She immediately knew who they were by the way Lucky’s face lost all it’s color.

"Looks like we meet again Spencer," One of the men grinned. "Must say I’ve missed the services you gave. But glad to say your little vacation is over."

Lucky didn’t answer. He just stares at the men with wide eyes, knowing what was coming next.

Elizabeth looks around the room for a weapon, but doesn’t see anything she could use to protect Lucky. She looks up at the guards, so big and burly. There was no way to Lucky could take them on his own. Plus they had guns, true they were all in their holsters, but still, enough time for one of them to pull them out…

The idea comes quick and Elizabeth moved even quicker so not to lose her nerve. She bolts up and reaches behind the first guard and pulls the gun out of the holster. She unsnaps the safety and aims it at the guards heart.

"Don’t come anywhere near him if you value the ability to breathe," Elizabeth growled. She can feel the anger coursing through her veins now. The anger of being kidnapped, of losing Lucky once, of Tom Baker not being prosecuted for her rape and the rape itself. She felt so much anger for that and the fact that these men had practically done the same thing to Lucky. And the fact that they were here to do it again and they had the audacity to think she’d let them do it again.

"Come on now," The guard holds out his hand. "Give the gun back. You don’t have the guts to use it."

The other guards laugh, as if the very thought of the tiny woman standing in front of them could actually fire the gun and kill any one of them. They didn’t know that’d she’d kill anyone of them just to protect her boyfriend.

"Oh you don’t think so?" Elizabeth aims the gun at one of the guard’s earrings dangling from their ear and fires. Sparks fly from the bullet hitting the earring before disappearing into the nearby wall. "Now what do you think?"

"What’s going on here!" Faison enters the scene, his eyes burning with anger. "I heard a gun go off!"

"This little lady doesn’t want us going near her little boyfriend here," another guard nods to Elizabeth. "She got the gun away from Bruce here and has been holding it on us ever since."

"You idiots! You let her get the gun away from you?! What imbeciles!" Faison pushes pass the guards and snatches the gun away from Elizabeth before she can even react and turns to the guard known as Bruce. He aims the gun and the bullet goes into his chest. "Let that be a warning to the both of you! Keep your guns where our guests can’t reach them." Faison coldly glares at the remaining two guards. "Now get your comrade out of here now! And another thing! My plans do not include your visits to Mr. Spencer anymore! Do I make myself clear?!"

"Yes sir," Both guards nod and lift up the body of their fallen co-worker. As soon as they leave, Faison turns his glare on Elizabeth, then smiles.

"A lot more guts than I ever expected Miss Webber," Faison grins and looks at Lucky’s who’s standing behind Elizabeth, his face still pale from the confrontation. "Mr. Spencer sure knows how to pick them. Well I’ll leave you two alone. I’ll see you again tomorrow." Faison turns around and strolls out the door, locking the bolt before he continues down the hall.

Closing her eyes and sighing in relief, she turns to Lucky. "Are you ok?"

Lucky doesn’t say anything, he just nods. "When did you become so brave?"

Elizabeth shrugs. "You call that brave? I was shaking in my shoes. Besides, I owed you one. After all, you’re the one who tackled Tom to the ground."

"And you’re the one who held the gun on him. And there you are, doing it again," Lucky forces a smile.

"You were in danger. I had to do something," Liz tenderly touches his cheek.

"…I love you. You know that don’t you?"

"Of course," Elizabeth pulls him into a hug. "We’re going to get through this Lucky. I promise you we will."

Lucky hugs her back tightly, hoping that Elizabeth was right. That somehow, his father would find him and they’d be back home soon planning their wedding.
