Chapter
Seven
Five hours later, they are back at the hotel safe in their room.
"What now?" Elizabeth asked, setting on the bed next to
Lucky, who’s just staring out into space.
"I don’t know. We can’t call my uncle because he’s gone to
identify those bodies."
"I got it!"Elizabeth stands up and grabs her cell phone.
"Who are you calling?" Nikolas narrows his eyes, already
suspecting who.
"Jason. He told me if we needed his help to call."
"No Elizabeth no. We can’t call him. It’s too risky,"
Nikolas shakes his head.
"Nikolas come on! He’s the only chance we have of getting out
of Paris and keeping Lucky safe! I will not lose Lucky again just because you
have a bad case of…"
"Elizabeth," Lucky looks up at her. She just looks back and smiles.
"Just because you’re jealous."
"Jealous of Morgan? No way. Okay. Fine since you trust him so
much. But tell him nothing until he gets here."
"Fine," Elizabeth shrugs, dialing the number.
Jason and Carly are in the middle of dinner. They had decided to
give a romantic relationship a chance after Carly had agreed to divorice A.J,
and Jason had agreed to cool it with the motorcycle rides he’s been giving
Elizabeth. Carly opens her mouth to speak when the phone rings.
"Hello?" Jason answers.
"Jason it’s me Liz," Elizabeth’s voice floats through
the phone.
"Liz? How is everything going?" Jason places a finger of
his lips when Carly sighs loudly and throws down a napkin.
"We need help. Like yesterday. Can you come get us?"
"What happened to Nikolas’s plane?"
"…We don’t have it anymore. Please Jason, I can’t go into
detail right now, I’ll explain when you get here. We’re in Paris at the Tower
Hotel. Oh, and don’t tell anyone about this. Nikolas and I would like to keep
this secret until we get back to Port Charles."
"Sure. I’ll be there as soon as possible. Hold on,"
Jason agrees.
"Thanks Jason," She hangs up.
"So what did saint Liz want?" Carly places her hands on
her hips.
"I can’t talk about it," Was Jason’s flat answer.
"What? What can be so important that you can’t tell me? Where
is little Suzy Sunshine anyway? I haven’t seen her at Kelley’s."
"Like I said before, I can’t tell you."
"Jason…come on we agreed. No more motorcycle rides, remember?
This applies to that rule…especially if you can’t tell me."
Jason sighs in frustration and glares at Carly. He couldn’t
believe she was acting jealous over a kid like Liz. But he loved Carly and he
didn’t want to lose her and that is what will happen if he froze her out. Jason
sighed. What would be the harm? Liz hadn’t told him anything concrete anyway.
"Ok fine. Since you’re going to be so insistent. Liz and
Nikolas went off to help a friend in trouble. Well obviously they’ve run into
some trouble themselves and need me to go help them."
"oh. So Liz gets herself in trouble and need you to rescue
her. It’s a ploy Jason! It’s so obvious!"
"Carly…"
"No, hear me out. She runs off with Nikolas, probably to get
you attention. That doesn’t work, so she decides to make up a lame story so you
can go to her…alone. Nikolas is probably on his way back to Port Charles right
now!"
"Liz isn’t like that Carly."
"Isn’t she? Jason come on. Can’t you see through this little
game of hers."
"Ok Carly, say I listen to you and don’t go. And she really
is in trouble? Then what? How will you feel then?"
"Not my problem."
Jason sighs in frustration. "Listen, I’m leaving for Paris
now. I will be back tomorrow sometime. We’ll talk then."
Carly grabs his arm. "Jason no! Please don’t go! Not without
me anyway! That way if this is a trick, you won’t be alone. I’ll be with
you."
"You are being ridiculous!"
"Jason, please. Look I can help. If Liz really is in
trouble…"
"You hate her."
"But I have nothing against Nikolas. He must be in this with
her you know."
"Carly…you stay out of the way and don’t say a word. Do I make myself
clear? No snide remarks, so barbs, nothing. Got it?" He relents, not being
able to resist her pouting red lips. She was so cute when she did that.
"Yes sir," Carly salutes and gets up. "Let’s
go."
"I mean it Carly…"
"I promise. I won’t be mean to your little princess. Now can
we go? The sooner we get to Paris the better."
