CHAPTER
SIX
Helena
Cassadine pace the deck of her yacht relentlessly. She had just gotten word
that her grandson Nikolas had disappeared off the face of the Earth after all
the men she had put on him were attacked. Not only that, but her plan to kidnap
Lucky Spencer was a failure. Him too, with his little girlfriend had
disappeared. She betted anything that Luke Spencer had something to do with both
disappearances.
"Incompetent
fools!" She yelled as she whirled around to face Luke Spencer, glaring
right at her. "Why look who’s decided to charm me with his company."
"Save
it hellcat. I know what you tried to do to my son," Luke reached out and
tightly grabbed her throat. "And you’re not getting away with it. I must
admit it almost worked. You almost got away with making me believe my son was
dead."
"Keep
this up Luke and it’ll be a reality," Helena choked.
Luke
laughed. "I would think you’d leave those threats alone when you can’t put
them to use. You have no clue where Lucky is."
"Oh
but I can easily find out."
Luke’s
hold tightened even more. "Missing someone close to your heart Helena? Say
Nikolas?"
"You
bastard…what did you do to him?"
"Oh
nothing yet. Behave yourself and nothing will. When you have the urge to attack
my family again, remember I know where the little prince is and you don’t. If
you want to make sure he stays safe, you’ll steer clear of my family and make
sure you keep all those threats to yourself. And don’t even think about having
anyone follow me," Luke released his grip and left the yacht, leaving
Helena flustered and worried.
Luke
Spencer had Nikolas. Where ever he was Nikolas was in great danger and it was
up to her to find him. "Andreas! Andreas!"
"Yes
madame?" The manservant bowed.
"Put
men on the case of my missing grandson now! I want him found immediately and
brought back here!"
"But
Madame, where shall they start?"
"I
don’t care where they start! Just find my grandson and find him now!"
Helena yelled.
"Yes
Madame," Andreas bowed before heading for his office to make the necessary
phone calls.
"Don’t
worry Nikolas. I will rescue you from Luke’s clutches and then make him pay
dearly for what he’s done."
*
Laura
stood at the door, her hand bag in one hand and Lulu in another. It was time to
say good-bye to her sons. Looking at them, she felt a swell of pride and relief
at how close they now were. She had thought she’d never see the day where they
would become true brothers.
"Mom
don’t worry. I’ll take care of Lucky and Liz. I promise," Nikolas smiled.
"
I know you will. Just be sure to take care of yourself too," Laura hugged
Nikolas tightly.
"Laura
we have to go," Luke grimly replied, sticking his head through the door.
Wiping
away her tears, Laura smiled at both her sons and left as Luke entered.
"Here’s
my cell if anything should come up," Luke handed a cell phone and a number
to Lucky. "And watch your back. Especially with little Cassadine
around…"
"Dad
stop it. I trust Nikolas with my life," Lucky sighed.
"I
know you do. I just want you to be careful. That’s all."
Lucky
smiled. "I always am."
"Liz
take care of my son here."
"I will Mr. Spencer," Elizabeth took Lucky’s hand.
"And
you…if anything at all happens to my son while you’re here and you’re left
unharmed…I’ll kill you myself."
"Don’t
worry. I’ll guard Lucky with my life," Nikolas cleared his throat.
"Ok
then," Luke glanced at Nikolas one more time, still not trusting him. In
Luke’s opinion, once a Cassadine always a Cassadine. "I’ll see you three
soon."
"Ok
dad. Bye," Lucky waved as his parents disappeared into the night, leaving
just the three of them. "I thought he’d never leave," Lucky laughed.
"Me
neither," Nikolas grinned. "Well it’s late. I better get to bed. I’ll
see you two in the morning. Right?"
"Count
on it," Lucky nodded walking over to Elizabeth and placing a arm around
her shoulder.
"Ok.
See you tomorrow," Nikolas nodded disappearing upstairs, leaving Lucky and
Elizabeth alone.
"This
is going to be hard on him," Lucky sighed.
"It’s
hard on all of us Lucky," Elizabeth walked away from him and collapsed
onto a nearby loveseat, crossing her arms. Her eyes shined with unshed tears.
Lucky immediately knelt down in front of her and took her hand.
"Elizabeth
talk to me."
"I…I…I
want to see Gram!" Elizabeth bursts into tears. "I want to see Gram
so bad Lucky and I know I can’t because it’ll be too dangerous but I can’t help
how I feel!"
"…Maybe
I can talk to dad. He can tell Audrey what happened or bring her here to visit
next time. Would you like that?"
Elizabeth’s
smile brightened. "I’d love it. But I know it’s not going to happen.
Luke’s probably gonna say it’s too dangerous."
Lucky
sighed. She knew his father more than he did. But he still wished he could find
a way to get Audrey to her, or a way for her to call. "I’m sorry
Elizabeth. I wish that I never got you involved in this."
Elizabeth
wiped away her tears, feeling doubly bad. She never meant for Lucky to blame
himself. This wasn’t his fault. It was Helena’s. If she had just left Lucky out
of her stupid feud with the Spencers, She’d be with Gram right now and Lucky
would still have his apartment and Nikolas his Cottage. It was all unfair.
Helena had in one move destroyed their lives. "Don’t be sorry Lucky. The
only person who should be sorry is Helena. I hate her Lucky. I hate her so
much…"
"Shhh Elizabeth. Let’s not talk about it anymore," Lucky wrapped his
arms around her, holding her close. "Let’s just forget about Helena for
the rest of the night and know that we’re safe from her tonight. Us and the
people we love."
Elizabeth
just nodded and laid her head on his shoulder. They remained that way for about
half an hour until Elizabeth fell asleep. Lucky soon after carried her upstairs
to her room and shut the door before returning to his own room. That night they
all dreamed about the day they would return home. When Helena would be behind
bars or better yet, dead so they could live out their lives in peace.
