CHAPTER
TEN
A week has passed since Lucky and Nikolas’s abduction. Faison has been working night and day with
the boys, trying to twist their minds to Helena’s program. Both boys were resistant, but Nikolas was
more so than Lucky since he had no residual anger towards Laura, plus Stephan’s
words about how evil his grandmother was rang through his head. Lucky was a whole different story. Even though he was resistant, some of
Helena’s programming was leaking through, leaving him weary and confused.
It was after one of those sessions that Helena finally let Nikolas
visit hi brother. Nikolas was pacing
his room when Helena and her goons entered and grabbed him. Without a word they took him two floors up
and to the first room on the right with a guard in front of the door.
“Mrs. Cassadine,” The guard stood at attention.
“The prince wants to visit his brother. Make sure that there is no funny business. Remember, it’s your baby’s life on the
line,” Helena evilly smiled.
“You witch,” Nikolas gasped in shock. He knew his grandmother was mad, but threatening the life of a
baby…that was pure evil. He had to get
his brother out of here. One way or
another.
“After you my prince,” Helena stepped aside as the door was
opened. “I must say your brother has
become quiet in the past couple of days.
I think we are making progress.”
Nikolas found Lucky standing at the window, just staring off into
space, his blue eyes stormy with anger.
The older brother approached Lucky carefully, not knowing what to
expect. Hopefully Helena had failed in
her brainwashing attempts with Lucky, just as she failed with him.
“Lucky?”
“Hey,” was Lucky’s flat answer.
His voice was void of emotion; even the anger burning in his eyes didn’t
reach his voice.
“How are you? What did she
do?”
“Nothing. Just told me the
truth about my father.”
Nikolas frowned. He didn’t
like the sound of this. Not one little
bit. Something wasn’t right. What had his grandmother done to his brother
now? “What do you mean? What did Helena tell you Lucky? What ever it was…it wasn’t true. You have to know that.”
“I know that he’s a liar and a
pervert. He’s almost as bad as Tom
Baker.”
“As worse as…what are you talking about
Lucky? I don’t understand.”
Lucky turned around to face Nikolas, his
eyes full of disbelief, anger, and sadness.
“Mom wasn’t the only one Nikolas.”
“I’m still not getting what you’re
saying,” Nikolas frowned. This whole
conversation was confusing him.
“Mom wasn’t the only one that my father
had raped. He had raped once before and
that time it had resulted in a child.”
Nikolas paled. This couldn’t be true.
This had to be one of Helena’s ploys to turn Lucky against his
father. “Lucky…listen…”
Before Nikolas could finish, Helena came
in followed by a young woman older than both Lucky and Nikolas. She had blond hair and the intense blue eyes
found in both Lucky and Lulu. To his
horror, Nikolas knew that what Lucky had told him was true.
“Gentlemen. May I introduce you to Portia Cassadine. Daughter of my deceased daughter Faith and
that vile Luke Spencer. Lucky, you know
the story. Please tell my Nikolas the
crime your father had done to my family,” Helena places her knarled hands on
the girl’s shoulders.
“Leave him alone Helena,” Nikolas stood
in front of Lucky, shielding him from anything that could harm him.
“Your cousin is so protective
Portia. You see now why I love him so?”
Helena lightly caressed the girl’s hair.
“Very well. I’ll tell it
myself. Stefan and Stavros were not my
only children. I had a beautiful
daughter. A sweet girl by the name of
Faith. She was the light of my life. She had kept me sane. I spoiled her. Gave in to her every request.
When she wanted to go to school in America…I was appalled…but I gave in
because it would make her happy. So
with a heavy heart, I sent her to the states to attend school in Port
Charles. That was the biggest mistake
of both our lives. I wish to this day that I had refused to send
her to America.”
“What happened next
grandmother. Tell Cousin what happened
next,” the girl clung to Helena’s hand, her blue eyes burning bright with
outrage.
“Luke Spencer is what happened
next. I don’t know where my Faith had
met that creature, but she did. On a
warm autumn night…in that awful park…Luke Spencer mercilessly raped her! Raped her and destroyed her spirit and
impregnated her with his child!”
“Oh my God,” Nikolas whispered. The hatred in both women’s eyes were so
palpable and directed straight at her brother, as if Lucky was Luke himself.
“Luke Spencer used his mob connections
to get off for the crime and Faith returned to me a broken girl. No longer was she my sweet and innocent
angel. She was just a melancholy girl,
ruined beyond repair. Nine months
later…after giving birth to Portia…Faith hung herself. We found her body hanging from the rafters,
baby Portia screaming for her mother. I
took Portia and raised her myself, instilling hatred for her father from the
very beginning. We kept tabs on
Luke. From his meeting Laura to the
reconciliation between father and son.”
“And that’s when you decided to make
your move,” Nikolas guessed.
“He took the most important person from
Grandmother, so we’re doing the same to him.
Don’t feel sorry for him Cousin.
He doesn’t deserve your pity,” Portia crossed her arms.
“Our plan is simple. Turn Lucky against Luke. Get him to kill his father and I already
knew how. Make Lucky believe that his
father was a danger to that sweet little girlfriend of his. We’ve watched those two and know that your
brother is very protective of her. He’d
kill to protect her.”
“That’s right. He would, and so would Luke.
Lucky knows that.”
“Oh does he now?” Helena crossed her
arms. “Lucky…tell your brother what I
has shown you,” Helena crossed her arms.
Intense anger and betrayal burned in
Lucky’s eyes as he turned to face Nikolas.
“He was staring at a picture of Elizabeth. Smiling.”
“So Lucky. That doesn’t mean anything.
Luke would never hurt Elizabeth.
You know that!” Nikolas protested.
“How can you be for sure Cousin? He could be hurting her right now.”
Nikolas whirled on Portia. He roughly grabbed her shoulders and glared
into her eyes. “Listen, I’m sorry for
what had happened to your mother. Luke
should have been thrown in jail for the rest of his life! But I will not
stand by and let you hurt my brother like this. I will not let you and grandmother fill his head with lies so he
could do your bidding!”
“Sorry Nikolas, but it’s not lies. Luke and his family deserve all that’s
coming to them. They will all pay for
my mother’s death! All of them!”
“You’re hurting innocent people here
Portia. Lucky and Leslie-Lu have
nothing to do with what Luke did. I
will not stand by and let you use either one of them. You want to go after Luke, go after her. I don’t care. But leave my brother and sister alone. They had nothing to do with what happened.”
“Nikolas, please do not argue with your
cousin. It’s very unbecoming,” Helena
pulled Portia away from Nikolas.
“Lucky come. Let’s wait for your father to get here. He’s probably on his way now.”
“I hate him. More then I did before.
He’s a monster. He’s no better
then Tom,” Lucky coldly growled.
“Lucky no. That’s not how you truly feel.
You love Luke. You two were just
getting your relationship back on track,” Nikolas was shaken to the core. He had never seen Lucky like this before. Not even when they were at each other’s
throats.
“If he lays one finger on Liz, I will
kill him with my bare hands,” Lucky growled through clenched teeth.
“Oh it’s a certainty that he will….”
Helena snorted.
“Shut up!” Nikolas hatefully glared at
Helena. “I know what you’re doing and
it won’t work! I won’t let it! Leave my brother alone!”
“I will not be spoken to in such a
vulgar manner! Guard! Guide my grandson back to his room. He shall remain there until he learns some
respect,” Helena ordered.
“Yes mam,” the guard grabbed Nikolas and
began pushing him towards the door.
“Lucky! Fight them! Don’t let
them use you like this! Fight them!”
Nikolas yelled as he was pulled back to his room, where he spent the rest of
the day alone.

Back in Port Charles, Luke, Sonny,
Laura, and Elizabeth were all in Luke’s office at the club, gathered around his
desk as Luke hacked into Helena’s accounts and deeds. He was determined to pinpoint Helena’s location and find his
son. One way or another.
“Have you found anything yet?” Laura
peered over Luke’s shoulder.
“Nothing,” Luke ran his tired hands over
his face. “I’ve been setting at this
blasted machine for five hours now and still no clue where the witch took the
boys.”
“But there has to be something. She can’t just kidnap two people and make no
preparations,” Sonny stroked his chin thoughtfully. As an experienced mob boss, he had a special knowledge of such
things.
“I’ve examined all of her compounds,
yachts, and warehouses. No unordinary
activity what so ever.”
“Luke…what about her private
mansions? Have you checked any of them
yet?” Laura asked, an idea taking form.
“Angel has a point,” Luke went back to
the computer and began typing. “Her
personal estate would be the last place we’d look. She knows….whoa, look at this.”
“An order for that month’s food. Ribs, cheese fries…Luke! Those are all Lucky’s favorite foods!” Laura
gasped.
“Ha ha!
We’ve found him darling! We’ve
found Cowboy!” Luke swept Laura up into his arms.
“Where is she holding them?” Elizabeth
frowned at the computer. She couldn’t
make heads nor tails of the information on the screen.
“Helena’s mansion outside of Quebec
Canada,” Luke slid back into his seat and ran his fingers once again over the
keyboard, bringing up more information on the estate. “Yep. This is where the
old witch has them.”
“I’ll fuel up the jet,” Sonny looked at
Luke.
“Be prepared to leave within the hour,”
Luke nodded in agreement.
“Luke…” Laura began.
“Don’t worry. We’ll find Lucky and bring him home, plus make sure that Helena
never bothers our family ever again.
Elizabeth
and Laura looked at each other, hoping that what Luke had said was true.
