Introduction
The story takes place the night of the fire.
What happens to Lucky? Will the love that he and Liz share survive? How does
these events affect his relationship with Luke, Laura, and Nikolas? Is there
any escape from the troubles that plague the Spencer Family?
CHAPTER ONE
Lucky hangs
up the phone and sighs contently as he falls asleep. For the first time in a
long time, he is completely content. He has the most beautiful girl in the
world for a girlfriend, his best friends are his brother and he renewed his
friendship with Emily Quartermaine. And now he’s back on speaking terms with
both his parents. Especially Luke. They’ve decided to put the past behind them
and start anew. Of course things weren’t going to be like they were before
Lucky found out about the rape…but perhaps they’ll be even better. Everything
in his life was exactly as he wanted it. For the first time Lucky Spencer felt
complete.
That’s when
everything fell apart. He had blown out the candles and settled down under the
covers, unaware of the two looming shadows outside his door. He was just at the
threshold of sleep when two rough hands grabbed him and jerked him out of bed.
"What
the…" Lucky awakens instantly and stares up at the two frightening men
glaring down at him.
"Lucky
Spencer," One of the men spoke. "You are coming with us."
"Don’t
put up a fight kid and we’ll go easy on ya," the other figure replied,
reaching down to grab Lucky once again.
The two men
force Lucky to his feet and struggle to get him downstairs as another man
carrying what looked like a body bag dashes upstairs.
"Let me
go!" Lucky struggles against his abductors. The two men are strong and
maintain their hold on the young man.
"The
kid’s strong," One of the men grunt.
"So.
Just keep hold of him. If he gets away Cesar Faison will have our heads,"
The other man grumbles.
Cesar
Faison? Now why did that name sound familiar? Then Lucky remembers his father
talking about a Cesar Faison killing Robin Scoripio’s parents. What would a
murderer want with him? More determined then ever, Lucky jerks his arm out of
one of the men’s grasps and lands a right hook to the other man’s nose, causing
him to let go. Lucky begins to run as if his very life depended on it. He ignores
the smell of smoke drifting from behind him and continues away from the
pounding footsteps behind him. He runs to the first house that comes to mind
and pounds on the door, looking behind him to see if the two men were behind
them. So far there was no sign of them.
He turns
back to knocking on the door, hoping that the occupants were awake.

Elizabeth
Webber is in the midst of a wonderful dream. Her and her boyfriend Lucky, they
were dancing. And he was singing to her…my girl, the song he sanged to her that
night at Lukes when they had agreed to see each other exclusively. Suddenly
there’s sirens and red lights flash, blinding her. She bolts awake to not only
the sounds of sirens, but the sounds of knocking on her front door. Yawning,
she gets up and goes downstairs. She opens the door and is surprised to see
Lucky, at the moment he looked like he saw a ghost.
"Lucky?"
"Elizabeth,"
Lucky rushes in. "Quick close the door."
"What’s
wrong?" She’s concerned, she had never see Lucky like this before. She
closes the door and watches as Lucky moves to the window and peeks through the
curtain. "Lucky what are you looking at?" Elizabeth moves behind him
and stares out into the dark night. Lucky motions for quiet just as two men
appear, looking around as if they’re looking for someone. To Elizabeth’s
amazement, the two men begin to look through the yard and behind the bushes.
Lucky moves to the side as not to be seen as the men look through her yard.
Ten minutes
later, the men move on after checking the yards of the surrounding houses.
"What
were they looking for?" Elizabeth asked.
"Me,"
Lucky sighed with relief.
"What?
I don’t understand…"
"They
were looking for me Elizabeth. After we hung up. I blew out the candles was
about to fall asleep when those two men came in and forced me to leave with
them. After one of them mentioned a Cesar Faison, I somehow got away."
"Oh my
god," Elizabeth’s hand flies to her mouth in shock and fear. "We have
to call the police."
"And
tell them what? That two men tried to kidnap me and I escaped and they’re going
around checking people’s yards?"
"…Yes," Elizabeth nods and grabs Lucky’s hands. "Lucky…there’s
no telling what those men had planned. We have to tell someone."
Lucky nods.
Elizabeth was right. He knew she was. They had both learned a lesson when she
had waited to report her rapist. Tom Baker may have been caught a long time ago
if Elizabeth had gone to the police right away.
Elizabeth
shivers as more sirens blare through the night. It must be some fire for so
many fire trucks to be out tonight.
"Can it
at least wait until tomorrow? Those men are still out there. If they see the
police come here it might tip them off to where I am and that’s putting you in
danger…in fact…I should never have come here. It was a bad idea. Now you’re in
danger too."
"I’m
glad you did come here Lucky," Elizabeth squeezes his hand. Those men
would have most definitely caught up with you if you hadn’t. "Listen…if
you like you can have Sarah’s old room tonight. Gram won’t mind…or you can
sleep in my room on the floor…just like old times," Elizabeth shyly
smiles.
Lucky
smiles. "That sounds like an idea."
"Then
tomorrow we go to the police," Elizabeth smiles. "Now come on. I’ll
fix up your room for you."
