It’s been two hours since Lucky returned to his house and reassured his mother that everything was fine. That he felt that he wasn’t in any danger with Helena back in town. After Laura left, Lucky sat in front of the television watching mtv when finally Elizabeth returned. She just glared at her husband once than stormed into their bedroom and slammed the door. Lucky sighed. He knew she was going to be angry with him, but just how angry was still in question. Getting up, he lightly knocked on the door.

"Elizabeth? Can I come in?"

"If you want," was her cold reply.

Lucky opened the door and shut it behind him. He went to his wife who was setting on the bed staring out the window. "You’re really mad at me aren’t you."
"I thought you trusted me Lucky."

"I do. I trust you with my life."

Elizabeth looked at him, unshed tears in her eyes. "Well then why didn’t you tell me that Helena was back in town huh? Why did you keep it from me?"

"Like I said, with Tom Baker back in town, I thought it’d be best if you didn’t know. I should have known better. I should have known you’d want to know no matter what."

"That’s right Lucky. I’ve always been straightforward and forthcoming with you and I expect the same. It’s like I told Tom today, I’m not the same whimpering teenager he left shivering the snow that awful night. He doesn’t have that power over me anymore. Only one person does and that’s you."

"Oh Elizabeth…I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I didn’t want to hurt you. I just wanted to protect you. I didn’t want you to worry."

"I want to worry Lucky. I’m your wife. It’s my job to worry about you just like it’s your job to worry about me. I need to worry about you."
"I’m sorry. Forgive me?" Lucky pulled her into a hug and smiled when he felt her relax against him.

"I already have. You know I can’t stay mad at you for long," Elizabeth smiled, then slid into his lap and leaned her cheek against his shoulder. "Sing to me Lucky. Sing the song you wrote for me."

"Elizabeth, it’s been so long since I sung it," Lucky laughed.

"You forgot it?"

"No. But I don’t think it’ll sound the same."

"It will. It always will when you sing it because it comes from your heart."
Lucky sighed. He couldn’t say no when she talked to him like that. "Ok. Fine. As you go to bed tonight. Keep a little prayer for me in sight. I will be there when you call. I will catch you if you might fall. Elizabeth. Go to Sleep. I want to watch you breathe. I want to feel God’s peace. All I want is this. Elizabeth."

"That was beautiful," Elizabeth yawned. It was a long and tiring day, especially with both Tom and Helena showing up at the diner.

"Go to sleep baby," Lucky layed her on the bed and curled up next to her. "It’s been a long day."

"I love you."

"I love you too," Lucky smiled, pulling her closer into his arms.

Tom Baker entered his employer’s office, one demand on his mind. Ever since he saw Elizabeth at the diner he knew he had to have her again. He just wanted to make sure it was ok with his benefactress.

"What is it now?" Helena strolled into the office, wearing a black nightgown, a champagne glass full of wine in her hand.

"I have a demand. I want to have Elizabeth Webber. At least three times anyway."
"You mean Elizabeth Spencer? The girl’s married now. Why do you want her for? She’s a drab of a girl?"
"She said I have no power of her anymore. Let’s just say I want to get it back."

"I can understand that. In fact…I have my eye on her young husband. Lucky. The boy grew up to be a very desirable man. Plus it’d break Luke if he knew I had his son in such a position. It’d kill the old man," Helena laughed. "Ok. You may take the Spencer girl. Just as long as you do me one favor and when the time’s right. Not before then."

"And what’s that?"
"Kidnap Lucky and bring him to me."

Tom’s eyes widened, remembering that mornings confrontation with the young man. "Are you serious? The kid bit the pulp out of me this morning. I don’t think I’ll be able to overtake him again."

"You can and you will. Of course it won’t be right this minute. Everyone is on guard right now. I’ll tell you when," Helena licked her lips, thinking of how the young man could pleasure her.

"Does this mean I have to wait for Elizabeth?"

"You know the answer to that," Helena glared at Tom. "Of course. You don’t get what you want until I get what I want. Besides, with Lucky out of the way, it’ll be easy for you to gain access to Elizabeth."

Tom smiled, knowing that what his boss had directed was for the best. "Yes mam."

"You’re dismissed," Helena waved her hand. As soon as Tom left, Helena smiled with glee. Young Spencer would soon be hers and there was nothing Luke could do to stop her. In fact, when he found out…it’ll probably break him. Finishing her wine, Helena turned in for the night, dreaming of passionate nights with Lucky.
