Prologue

Elizabeth Webber made her way through the rainy streets of Italy, eager to get back to the apartment she shared with Jason. It was a long day at the gallery and all she wanted to do now was sink into a warm tub and sip on some hot chocolate. Sighing in relief as she reached the hallway of her apartment building Elizabeth unlocked her door and pushed it open to find a empty apartment. Elizabeth looked around and frowned. Something felt different…the apartment seemed to have been deserted.

"Jason?" Elizabeth walked deeper into the apartment and spots the letter laying on the table. Frowning she opens and reads:

Dear Liz,

By time you get this letter I will be long gone. You see, two days ago, I ran into Robin. We sat and talked, catching up on our lives. We came to the conclusion that we were still in love and we got back together. I’ve gone back to Paris to live with her. I’m sorry for all the pain this caused you and that I had no money to leave you, since the money I have is paying my way to Paris. By the way rent is due tomorrow.

Elizabeth, my time with you was special and I shall never forget it. I wish you luck in the future.

Jason

Stunned Elizabeth letted the letter drop to the floor and she sunk to her knees as the storm raged outside. She was alone. All alone in Italy with no one to turn to for help and not enough money for rent. The man that said he loved her had left her all alone in a foreign country with no money, not even a way to make rent. What was she to do now? Looking at the phone she suddenly knew. There was one person she could call, always call when in trouble. And even though she had caused him a great deal of pain and had left him when he needed her most, maybe he’d help her at least get back home.

Getting upon her feet, Elizabeth goes to the phone and dials the code for the United States. "Yes, Port Charles please. Hi. It’s me. Elizabeth."
