Elizabeth hummed a happy tune as she came down into the diner the next morning. After her talk with Lucky the night before they had sat up their first real date. That night, Lucky was picking her up and taking her to dinner and a movie.

"You’re in a good mood," Katie noticed. "Dare I guess this has to do with my friend?"

"If you’re talking about Lucky, you’d be right," Elizabeth grinned. "We had a deep discussion last night and we’ve decided to start from scratch. Starting now, we’re dating."

"Ohhh Liz! I’m so happy for the both of you!" Katie ran up and hugged the other girl. "Hopefully you two will work your back to each other and we can have a wedding for a change."

Elizabeth blushed. "We’re not even thinking that far yet. We’re just taking it one day at a time."

"Well I’m happy for you, just the same," Katie grinned just as Gia and Lucky entered, fresh from a shoot. "Lucky!" Katie waved.

"Hey," Lucky nodded and smiled at Elizabeth who could only simply smile back. For the first time in her life, she was shy around Lucky.

"Are we interrupting some kind of celebration?" Gia asked, as they approached the girls.

"Liz was telling me she had a date tonight," Katie smiled knowingly at Lucky.

"She does?" Gia’s voice betrayed her surprise. She looked over at Lucky to see his reaction, but was confused by the slight grin on his face. "With who?"

"Pick you up at seven. Right?" Lucky asked.

"That’ll be great," Elizabeth nodded.

"Oh my God. It can’t be…Liz’s date is you?" Gia turned to her friend/photographer.

"Yep. Why are you so surprised?" Lucky asked, amused by Gia’s horrified reaction.

"…I…I don’t know. I really shouldn’t be, but I guess I was expecting Lucky to be a lot smarter than that."

"And what’s that supposed to mean?" Elizabeth placed her hands on her hips.

"Ok girls," Lucky stepped between them. "That’s enough. Gia, Liz and I are dating. That’s all you need to know and it doesn’t require your opinion. Do you understand?"

Gia only nods. "But I can’t say Nikolas will be pleased when he finds out you two are dating once again."

"Well it’s none of Nikolas’s business now is it?"

"No it’s not," Katie cleared her throat. "Now if you don’t mind, I’d like to get back to work. I do have customers. Liz, call me later."

"I will," Elizabeth waved as Katie went back to work.

"I have to go too. Nikolas wants to take me to that new restaurant by the docks. Later," Gia disappeared out the door.

"I’m sorry about that," Lucky apologized. "It seems like everyone’s been watchdogs lately huh?"

Elizabeth laughed. "Well believe or not, I can understand why they would be. I did hurt you and…"

"Elizabeth," Lucky interrupted. "Another thing. You leaving me for Jason is in the past. Let’s leave it there. No more kicking ourselves over it. We’re embarking on a brand new relationship and Jason is not a part of it."

Elizabeth smiled. "You’re right. No more thoughts of how stupid I was."

"Ok then. Plans for tonight, we’ll go to a movie and then we’ll stop at Luke’s for some music and food. Dad wants me to bring you by so he can welcome you back properly," Lucky grinned.

"Ok," Elizabeth laughed. "I’ll see you then."

"I better go. See you tonight," Lucky kissed her cheek before walking out of the diner.

Sighing happily one more time, Elizabeth started off to Deception for a power breakfast with Laura. For once in the past couple of weeks, things were looking up.

"You’re actually going to go through with this huh?" Nikolas stood in the doorway of Lucky’s room as he brushed his hair, getting ready for his date with Liz. "You’re crazy. You know that?"

Lucky sighed. "So I don’t have your blessing?"
"Lucky, out of all the girls in the world, why are you going back to Elizabeth Webber?"

"Because…I still have feelings for her Nikolas. I have to see where it goes before I can truly move on. If there’s a chance that I can get Elizabeth back, anyway at all…I want to explore it. If this doesn’t work out then I won’t be kicking myself later. At least I’d have tried."

"But she’s going to hurt you again!"

"You don’t know that. And if we do break-up, it was never meant to be in the first place. It’s different than last time Nikolas. We’re starting from scratch. It’s like we’re meeting for the first time."

"As I recall, you didn’t like her when you first met her," Nikolas grinned, but that grin quickly faded as Lucky gave him a dirty look.

"This is different and you know it. Now excuse me, but I have to go pick up my date."

"You say that like it’s a bad thing," Nikolas followed Lucky downstairs and watched as he put on his jacket and grabbed his car keys.

"Don’t wait up," Lucky grinned closing the door behind him. All Nikolas could do was shake his head and hope that Elizabeth screwed up sooner than later. That way Lucky wouldn’t hurt as much.

Two hours later the movie was over. Lucky held Elizabeth’s hand tightly as they entered they bustling atmosphere of Lukes.

"I wonder where my dad is!" Lucky spoke above the music, pulling Elizabeth over to the counter where Claude was pouring drinks. "Hey Claude, have you seen my dad?!"

"Over there!" Claude pointed towards the stage where Luke was counting out some money and handed over to a man with sunglasses.

"Dad?" Lucky and Elizabeth waited until the man was gone.

"Cowboy!" Luke greeted, pulling Lucky into a hug. "I’m glad you came after all. Now where is Elizabeth? I haven’t seen her in a year and not even a call or a letter…oh there she is," Luke grinned. "How ya doing Cowgirl?"

"Hey Luke," Elizabeth smiled, as the older man pulled her into a hug.

"It’s been a while Princess. When Cowboy here told me you were back, I couldn’t believe it."

"Believe me, I couldn’t believe it myself," Elizabeth laughed. Luke Spencer has always had the power to make her relax and laugh. She was relieved that he didn’t hold in ill feelings towards her. "Luke…I’d like to tell you how sorry I am about how I treated everyone before I left…"

"No apologies necessary. Life happens darling, and all we can do is roll with the punches. It’s a good thing though that Cowboy could help you out in your time of need."

"Believe me, I’m thankful myself. I don’t know what I would’ve done without him."

"Well dad, we would stay and talk, but we’re kind of on a date and…"

"Hey no problem," Luke laughed. "Hey, everything is on me. You two have fun."

"Thanks dad," Lucky waved, leading Elizabeth over to a empty table.

"Your dad is as eccentric as ever," Elizabeth giggled.

"He loves you Liz. He thought you were the best thing to ever happen to me," Lucky blushed. "He told me that one time you know."

"Yeah. I hope he feels that way in a couple of months. Let’s admit Lucky, I’ve been nothing but trouble for you…"
"Ah ah ah."

"Oh that’s right. Fresh slate. Well then I hope he still fills that way after a month. That’s it."

"Well that’s a little better," Lucky smiled. Before long Lucky was itching to get up and dance. Not being able to resist he grabbed Elizabeth’s hand. "Come on let’s dance!"

"Lucky!" Elizabeth gasped, horrified. It’s been so long since she danced…she wasn’t even sure if she remembered.

"Just follow me," Lucky laughed, never letting go of her hands as they danced.

You've got a smile so bright

You know, you could've been a candle

I'm holding you so tight

You know, you could've been a handle

The way you swept me off my feet

You know, you could've been a broom

The way you smell so sweet

You know, you could've been some perfume

Well, you could've been anything That you wanted to

and I can tell The way you do the things you do

(The way you do the things you do, The way you do the things you do)

As pretty as you are

You know, you could've been a flower

If good looks can cause a minute

You know that you could be an hour

The way you stole my heart

You know, you could've been a cool crook

And baby, you're so smart

You know, you could've been a schoolbook

Well, you could've been anything That you wanted to

and I can tell

The way you do the things you do

(The way you do the things you do, The way you do the things you do)

You made my life so rich

You know, you could've been some money

And baby, you're so sweet

You know, you could've been some honey

Well, you could've been anything That you wanted to

and I can tell The way you do the things you do

(The way you do the things you do)

You really swept me off my feet

(The way you do the things you do)

You made my life complete

(The way you do the things you do)

You made my life so bright

(The way you do the things you do)

You make me feel all right...

(The way you do the things you do)

Exhausted, Elizabeth leaned against Lucky as a slow song began to play. She smiled and breathed deeply, taking in a whiff his cologne, a smell so familiar and comforting. She thanked God that he was giving her another chance. She promised herself to not mess this up. She needed Lucky like she needed air and she wasn’t ever going to let him go again. Looking up into his eyes she smiled as his strong arms tightened around her waist.

"Oh Elizabeth, you don’t know how much I’ve missed this," he sighed. "It’s heaven holding you like this."

"It’s heaven for me too Lucky," Elizabeth sighed happily. Her heart beat faster as his lips met hers in a warm and tender kiss. Suddenly the world disappeared and the only things that existed was the music and her and Lucky, floating away into it’s notes and words singing of love.

You've given me a true love

and every day I thank you love

For a feeling that's so new

So inviting, so exciting

Whenever you're near

I hear a symphony

A tender melody

Pulling me closer Closer to your arms

Then suddenly,

I hear a symphony

Ooh, your lips are touching mine

A feeling so divine

'Till I leave the past behind

I'm lost in a world Made for you and me

Whenever you're near

I hear a symphony

Play sweet and tenderly

Everytime your lips meet mine

now baby Baby, baby

You bring a joy within

Don't let this feeling end

Let it go on and on and on

Now baby, baby

Those tears that seem my eyes

I cry not for myself

But for those who never felt the joy we felt

Whenever you're near I hear a symphony

Each time you speak to me

I hear a tender rap so dy of love

now Baby, baby As you stand holding me

Whispering how much you care

A thousand violins fill the air

Now baby, baby

Don't let this moment end

Keep standing close to me

Ooh, so close to me,

baby, baby Baby, baby

I hear a symphony A tender melody…

Three hours later, they stand outside Kelly’s simply staring into one another’s eyes. Their love was obviously back and stronger than ever. But both knew that there was more work to be done. Like the trust issue and Liz knew that it would take hard work on her part to put that part of their relationship back together and she was determined. She was never going to give him reason to doubt her love ever again.

"I had a wonderful time," She managed to get out.

"I did too. My dad loved seeing you."

"And you?" She arched a brow curiously.

Lucky only smiled and kissed her lightly. "I loved kissing you."

Elizabeth giggled and moved in for another kiss. This time it was more passionate. "Good night Lucky," She smiled as they pulled away.

"Night Elizabeth. I’ll see you tomorrow," Lucky smiled pulling away and heading back to his car. Elizabeth stood outside the restaurant until Lucky’s car was out of sight. Happy that the first date was a success, she went up to bed and dreamed of a day where herself and Lucky would be back where they belonged.
