THIRTY-NINE

Lucky laid on the bed staring up at the ceiling. Elizabeth layed right next to him, tightly grasping his hand, not taking her eyes away from him for a minute. She had prayed to be by his side again and here she was. It was a dream come true.

"I love you," She gently kissed his cheek, drawing his eyes down to her.

"I love you too. I wish all of this wasn’t happening. That everything would go back to the way it was before I was kidnapped. Remember how we were planning to go to New York after graduation?"

"I was going to go to the art academy and you were going to support us by playing your guitar. We even had a apartment picked out."

"And the pretzels. We both loved those," Lucky sighed. "Things were so much more simpler then. There was no Faison to worry about. No brainwashing…it was just us. In our own perfect little world."

"We’ll get it back Lucky. After Faison is taken care of…which he will be, we’ll get married and move on to New York if you want. Or just stay here with our friends and family if that’s what you want."

"Faison. I can’t believe that I thought he was my father all that time," Lucky sighed. "What is wrong with me that makes me so susceptible to his brainwashing?"

"Nothing’s wrong with you Lucky. It’s just that your mind could only take so much. He caught you at a weak moment again and took advantage."

"Well at least that’s as far as it went anyway. Last time he had me trying to call Robert and then myself," Lucky sighed. "How sick is that to brainwash someone to get a woman?"

"Very sick," Elizabeth nodded. "Well at least you’re home and I’m never letting go of you again."

"Mind if I keep you to that promise?" Lucky asked, pulling Elizabeth closer.

"Not at all," She kissed him passionately.

*

It was midnight when the call came, letting them know that Faison was on his way. The house was asleep. Elizabeth,Lucky, and Nikolas were all in one room while the elder Spencers and the Scorpios crashed downstairs. Sonny’s men were stationed around and throughout the house, keeping a eye out for anything out of the ordinary.

Luke sat up in a chair facing the door, shotgun in hand. He was taking no more chances when it came to Lucky. He’s about to drift off when the phone wakes him back up. Hoping out of the chair he picks it up.

"Spencer here!"

"You think you’ve won don’t you?" the accented voice floated through the phone.

"Faison. I’ve been wondering when you’d get the nerve up to call. Pretty sad way to get women don’t you think? Using other people’s kids to do so."

"It worked. Until Anna got a fit of concious. Enjoy your son Spencer. You won’t have him for long."

"Bring it on Faison. I’ll be on you before you even reach my son. This time I’m prepared."

Faison only laughed before hanging up the phone.

"I take it Faison now knows about our escape?" Anna and Robert stood behind their friend.

"He’s on his way. I’m calling Sonny and having him put his men on full alert. I want Faison taken down when he steps into Port Charles," Luke explained. "We have to keep my son safe at all costs. Faison’s not getting his hands on him again."

Just as Luke’s about to pick up the phone again, it rings. "Spencer here!"

"Luke, my men have just captured a suspicious looking character that was lurking outside your house," Sonny answered. "I had them take him down to my wharehouse on the docks and contain them. How do you want to handle this?"
"I’ll be right down," Luke hung up the phone. He picked up his car keys and his gun.

"Luke?" Anna placed a hand on his shoulder.

"That was Sonny. They caught Faison lurking outside just a minute ago. He's holding him down at his wharehouse on the docks."

"We’re coming with you," Robert said, grabbing his and Anna’s coats.

"So am I," a voice replied from the top of the stairs.

"Lucky how long have you been there?" Anna went to the young man as he came down the stairs.

"Long enough to know that Faison’s been captured," Lucky explained. "Dad, I’m coming too."

"Lucky no. I don’t want that scumbag even breathing the same air as you," Luke shook his head.

"Dad please…I have to see him. I have to face him and not be afraid so I can move on with my life. So for once I can know that it’s over. I have to see it with my own eyes. Dad please…don’t take this chance away from me."

Luke sighed. His son had a point. He deserved a chance to stare the bastard in the eye and show him that he couldn’t get too him anymore. But Luke was so afraid. What if Faison somehow escaped? Luke knew he wouldn’t be able to survive if his son disappeared again.

"Dad please," Lucky pleaded.

Luke sighed in defeat. "Ok. Fine. But Cowboy keep your distance. Promise me that much."

"I promise dad. Now can we go?"

"Come on you three. Let’s get this over with."
*

The warehouse was dimly lit as the small group entered. Luke held his gun tightly in front of him all the while blocking his son from view as they moved along the warehouse. Sonny was in the lead since he knew his way around. Soon they enter a small office and sure enough, there was Faison chained to the piping. It looked as if he had the living daylights beaten out of him.

"Ah Lucky and Luke. Together again," Faison smiled evilly as he say them enter. "How…heartwarming."

"Shut up Faison. You have no right to even speak my son’s name," Luke glared at his son’s captor.

"Oh Luke you are so mistaken. Lucky is my son. The son of me and my lovely Anna," Faison grinned at Anna, who steps closer to Robert.

"Gig’s up Faison. We all know your game and Lucky no longer believes you’re his father. In fact, I believe he has something to say to you," Luke steps aside so Lucky is the one facing Faison. Luke stood standfastly by his son’s side, lending him his support.

"Lucky son. What is this about?" Faison smiled sickenly. Anna can feel the bile rising in her throat. If she could she’d claw the man’s eyes out.

"It’s over Faison. It’s finally over. You can not hurt me anymore nor my family," Lucky crossed his arms. "It’s over."
"Oh but my dear Lucky. It’s not over. It will never be over. As long as I live and as long as you’re a Spencer, it will never be over. I’ll haunt your dreams at night. I’ll be in the mirror in the morning. Everywhere you go I will be too. There is no escape from me," Faison laughed. "You’re mine young Spencer. Nothing can change that."

"Don’t listen to him Lucky," Anna came up behind the young man, placing a strong hand on his shoulder.

"Ah my lovely Anna. You are forever mine also. No matter how many times you make love with Scorpio. Remember that."

"This bastard’s sick. Luke what do you want me to do with him?" Sonny glanced at his friend.

"I’ll get out of this Lucky. And guess who my next victim will be hmmm? Can you guess?" Faison laughed with glee. "I hope you enjoy your time with the lovely Miss. Webber."

"You bastard!" Lucky went into a rage. He grabbed the gun away from his dad and before Faison could respond, Lucky fired. He kept firing the gun until there were no bullets left. "You bastard!" Lucky lowered his hand and stared at Faison’s bullet riddled body. "He was going to hurt her…I had no choice," a single tear fell from Lucky’s eyes. "I had no choice."

"I know son. I know," Luke patted his son on the back. "Now he can’t hurt anyone ever again. He’s gone Cowboy. He’s gone."

"Dad...," Lucky swallowed, allowing his father to pull him into a deep hug. "It’s over. It’s finally over."
"I know Cowboy. It’s finally over," Luke held his son tightly, a wash of relief running through him. At last his son was completely safe.

"Luke, what do you want me to do with the body?" Sonny asked.

"What you normally do. Here’s the gun. Get rid of it," Luke took the gun away from Lucky and handed it to Sonny.

Sonny only nodded and got on his cellphone. "Yeah. I need the clean up crew here pronto."

"Come on son. Let’s go home," Luke guided his son away from the scene.

The small group return to find everyone waiting for them. Elizabeth immediately runs to Lucky and throws her arms around his neck, holding him tightly.

"I was so worried. I thought Faison had taken you again," She cried.

"Don’t worry. It’s over. Faison can’t hurt us anymore," Lucky held her tightly.

"Where did you all go anyway?" Laura placed her hands on her hip.

Luke took a deep breath. "Faison was caught lurking outside the house."

"What?!" Laura gasped, her face going chalk white.

"Don’t worry. Sonny’s men got him and called me. I of course went down there and took Anna and Robert with me. Lucky insisted on coming as well. He neeeded to take his life back from the guy."

"Then what happened?" Nikolas asked, standing beside his brother and Liz.

"…We went to see him. And He started taunting Lucky. He went as far as threatening Elizabeth…" Luke began.

"Then I killed him," Lucky flatly replied.

"What?" Laura turned to her son.

"When he threatened Elizabeth I had enough so I grabbed dad’s gun and shot him until there was no more bullets. It’s over. He can’t hurt anybody anymore," Lucky’s face glowed with relief. His whole ordeal was finally over and now he could go on with his life.

"Are you ok?" Nikolas looked at his brother, noticing for the first time since he came back he was totally calm.

"You know Nikolas…for the first time since I came back…yes. I’m totally ok,"Lucky smiled widely at his brother. "Everything’s totally ok."

Luke smiled happily, seeing the old light in Lucky’s eyes return. His cowboy was fully back again and Cesar Faison could never hurt any of them ever again.

Two days later…

Cassadine Island

Helena Cassadine lifted the vase up to her eye level and smiled with glee. "Oh my love. You had met such a violent end. Death by a Spencer. Regretfully I do not thirst to avenge your death like I did for my dear Mikkos and Stavros. They were royalty. You my dear was a lower lifeform. But I will do this. I will give you a resting place atop my mantle here on Cassadine Island. A great honor for you my Faison."

She sat the vase on top of the mantle and casually strolled over to her desk where a picture of Luke spencer with Laura and Lucky sat. "Ah the Spencers. I will give them their time of peace my dear. And then I shall return and anyone with a drop of Spencer blood will be doomed. That is my solemn vow to my beloved Mikkos. His enemies shall be vanquished!" Helena laughed evilly.
