THIRTY-FOUR

Lucky wakes up with the sun shining in his eyes. It’s been two whole days now that they’ve been in hiding and he knew it was starting to get to Elizabeth. He had more than once watched her staring out a window, her eyes far away and sad. He wondered how he could do this to her? Ask her to give up her life and everything she knew just for him? She’s been through enough for him already. He had decided at the time to tell her to go back to Port Charles. Back to her family and friends. He may be forced to live in hiding, but she shouldn’t have to. She was too talented and beautiful for such a life.

He found her setting at the kitchen table leafing through a magazine. She smiles warmly when she lifted her head to see him standing there studying her with his intense blue eyes.

"Good morning handsome," She greeted.

Lucky just smiled. "What’s that you’re reading?"

"Seventeen. They have a article about Leonardo DiCaprio in it," Elizabeth smiled and laughs when she notices his face. "Don’t worry. I may have a crush on Leo, but I’m in love with you. There’s a difference."

"I know that," Lucky laughed. His smile fades as he remembers what he was about to do. "Elizabeth…we have to talk."

"About what?" She asked, her smile fading also. She had a feeling that this was going to be serious and was going to lead into a even more intense conversation.

"…I think you should head back to Port Charles."

"What?"

"Elizabeth…life on the run…it’s not fun nor pretty. You can’t have friends. You won’t be able to see your family…you deserve better than that Elizabeth."

Elizabeth took Lucky’s hand in hers and hold it tightly, she forces him to stare her straight in the eye. "I deserve this Lucky. After a year and these past months, I deserve to be with you. That’s the only way I’ll be happy. If I go back I’ll die Lucky. I know I will."

"Elizabeth…we’ll constantly be moving. We’ll be using someone’s elses names. Plus we won’t be talking to our families for a very long time. Are you sure you want a life like that? It’s a life of complete isolation. Plus there’s no telling how far this brainwashing thing has gone. I mean I haven’t even been deprogrammed and who knows what else Faison and Helena had put in my head."

"Lucky…this life is a life with you and that’s what I want. And as far as the brainwashing thing…I’m here for the good times and bad. Whatever it is we’ll get through it. Lucky…the best thing we can do right now is stick together. Not let Faison split us apart."

"Are you sure about this? I mean it’s not too late for you to return home."

"I don’t want to return home. I want to be with you," Elizabeth squeezed his hand.

"Well since it looks like there’s no changing your mind…ok. I won’t make you go back to port charles. I just hope you don’t regret this decision."

"I won’t," Elizabeth smiled.

Lucky could only smile at Elizabeth’s determination to stay by his side. He finally understood the depth of her love for him and was thankful. He would have been lost with out her.

"So what’s on the agenda today?"

"I’m going out in search of a job," Lucky shrugged.

"What? Did you talk this over with the Scorpio’s?"
"Well…not really. But I’m thinking if I stick to myself what’s the harm?"
"Faison could show up and take you again and we wouldn’t be the wiser until it’s too late," Elizabeth pointed out. "Why don’t you just work here at the diner? I’m starting as a waitress."

Lucky laughed. "And what will I be doing?"
"Deliveries like at Kelly’s. Remember that year I first came to P.C?"

"Oh yes, I remember."

"And when you’re not doing that, you can help wait on tables. That way all four of us can stick together," Elizabeth kissed Lucky, loving the thought that they’ll be working together. "Let’s talk to the Scorpio’s as soon as possible."

"Whoa there Elizabeth I haven’t even made up my mind if I want to do that."

"But why not? It’ll be fun to work together."

"I just don’t want you to get tired of me that’s all," Lucky shrugged. "We’ll be seeing each other every minute of every day."

"So? That’s not so bad…especially not after all the separation," Elizabeth shrugged and grabbed Lucky’s hand as she spies Robert and Anna stepping up onto the porch. "Come on there they are! Let’s go talk to them!"

"Elizabeth!" Lucky protested as Elizabeth dragged him outside where the Spencers sat on the porch swing, enjoying the morning air.

"Lucky, Elizabeth good morning," Anna greeted.

"Good morning. Lucky and I were talking and we were thinking of ways we could help out more around here. I know I’ve agreed to be a waitress at the diner, we just wanted to know if it was possible that Lucky could be like a delivery person, and when he’s not making deliveries, he can help me wait tables. What do you think?" Elizabeth quickly asked.

"Why that’s a marvelous idea. You both can start Monday," Anna cheerfully nodded.

"Needless to say I’m glad you two are adjusting so well. Especially you Elizabeth. If I didn’t know better I’d say you were a pro at this," Robert smiled at the teen.

"Mr. Scorpio…when…how will we know when Faison’s been taken care of?" Elizabeth curiously asked.

"I’ll let you know. As soon as he’s found, we’ll take care of him," Robert reassured Elizabeth.

Unbeknownst to The small group on the porch, hidden in some nearby bushes knelt Faison and he smiled evilly. That tracking beacon he had placed on Scorpio’s car was a grand idea. Now he knew where his prey was and they didn’t even know it. Glancing at Anna he felt his heart skip another beat. She was even more beautiful than he last saw her and to think, he thought she was dead all this time. Narrowing his eyes, he swore vengence on Robert Scorpio for making him believe such nonsense. Soon Anna will be his hands and once he got Lucky Spencer back under his control he’ll reinforce his programming and this time make sure there was no loose ends. Faison laughed. Life for both the Spencers and the Scorpios will never be the same.
