CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
Luke looks down at the pale face of his only son and stifled back the tears. "Lucky?"
"Let me go!" Lucky struggled against the two men that were holding him down and glared up at Robert Scorpio. The man that had killed his Elizabeth, the man that was going to harm Lulu if he wasn’t stopped. He saw no one else but him.
"Lucky don’t you recognize me?" Luke notices that Lucky wasn’t looking at him, he was looking through him. "You don’t recognize your old man?"
"Let me go!" Lucky insisted struggling more roughly against the men. "Let me go!"
"Lucky!" Luke tries to get his son’s attention, but it’s no use. Lucky looks straight threw him and his movements grow more and more violent. He had no other choice nor means to subdue Lucky except for balling up his fist and knocking his son unconscious. Luke winces as he realizes that there was going to be a bruise eventually, but that Laura was going to kill him. But he had no choice. "Sonny. Bring your car around. I want to head to your penthouse. Call Kevin Collins and Alan Quartermaine and have them meet us there. I want to get behind what that psycho’s been doing to my son for the past two months."
"Sure thing Luke," Sonny’s voice is somber as he dials the number for GH and asked for the required doctors. "Johnny, pull the car up and put the kid in there."
"And be careful!" Luke replies. "This is my son you’re handling him. It’s bad enough I just gave him a black eye."
"Question here Luke. Why are we taking him to Sonny’s penthouse and not GH?" Robert asked.
"Because Sonny’s place is heavily guarded and Faison doesn’t have a chance of infiltrating the place like he can GH. I’m not taking any chances here Robert and if I was you I’d lay low for a while. Faison obviously wants you dead and it’s only a matter of time before he finds out that Lucky failed in taking you out."
"I just don’t understand why he wanted to use your son to do the job? It doesn’t make any sense," Robert strokes his chin thoughtfully.
"Don’t you get it? It’s irony. I’m your best friend, Lucky’s my son. What better way to get rid of someone by having that person’s best friend’s kid do the job for you?" Luke sighed. "I just wondered what he did to break Lucky? What would be so horrible that’d make my son believe and do everything that man said."
"Sir, I have the car ready," Johnny appears in the doorway.
"Ok," Luke nods, "Robert help me with the cowboy here. He’s a lot heavier now than when he was ten," Luke nervously laughs, picking Lucky up under his arms.
Two miles away, by hidden camera Faison roars with fury as he watches Robert and Luke carefully place an unconscious Lucky into the black limo with tinted windows. He slams his fist down into a wall as the limo sped off to parts unknown. His whole plan has failed! Scorpio still lives and not only that he now has Lucky in his custody. If he questions the boy long and hard enough, they’d find out what he had done and perhaps why. Not that Faison cared…but it’ll make it all the harder to be rid of Robert Scorpio. He’ll be more on edge, more alert. And Faison will have to find someone else to complete the job. Someone more effective…more experienced. It was indeed a foolish to use an inexperienced boy just so he can have a poetic revenge against Scorpio. No, next time an experienced hit man will be used. But in the meantime, he was going to have to neutralize the situation at hand as quickly as possible. The only thing was how to do so without getting caught.
