EPILOGUE

Two months later…

Lucky and Carly sat outside on Kelly’s patio, just enjoying the beautiful Spring day. It has been two long months for all the Spencers. With happy reunions and therapy sessions, it was a busy life for everyone. But through it all, Carly and Lucky had managed to become pretty good friends. She was always there to talk to when he felt like he’s dumped too much on Elizabeth and Nikolas.

"So you’re almost finished with the deprogramming huh?" Carly sipped on her iced tea.

Lucky’s smile was bright and genuinely happy. "Two more sessions to go. Kevin says that I just need to really talk about why it was so easy for Helena and Faison to mess with my mind like that. He thinks that it was left over anger at my parents.

"Do you agree?"

Lucky shrugged. "I don’t know. I mean, I thought I had forgiven my dad for everything. I guess I haven’t."

"You’ll work it out Lucky," Carly placed a supportive hand over his.

Lucky’s eyes widened at the huge ring on her finger. "Is that what I think it is?"

Carly smiled and nodded. "He proposed last night. As soon as my divorce is final, I’ll become Mrs. Jason Morgan," Carly sighed happily.

"Congratulations. You deserve it."

"Well…dear cousin. What about you and Liz? I know that you love her more then anything, so what’s the hold up?"

"There is no hold up," Lucky pulled out the ring he had planned to give Elizabeth as soon as possible. "All I have to do is ask."

"I can’t believe him," Carly placed her hands on her hip as Jason and Elizabeth pulled up on his motorcycle. "Hey, I thought we had agreed! No more motorcycle rides!"

Elizabeth rolled her eyes. She couldn’t believe that Carly was still jealous of her friendship with Jason.

"Carly, shut up and get on," Jason shook his head, a bit annoyed.

Carly just grinned and took Elizabeth’s seat behind Jason. "See ya cuz! Good luck!" Carly waved as they sped off.

"I still can’t believe that you two are related," Elizabeth slipped into Lucky’s lap. "So what were you two talking about anyway?"

"My therapy sessions and her engagement. Did Jason tell you?"

Elizabeth nodded, hiding her disappointment that Lucky hadn’t asked her yet. She couldn’t get what was taking him so long. She had thought that he wanted to be with her. But what if he didn’t? What if Helena had done something to take away his love?

"Elizabeth?" His voice brought her back to earth. She turned to stare into his blue eyes, filled with a mixture of love and anxiety. Something was up.

"Yes? What’s up?" She asked, leaning her forehead against his, losing herself once again in his eyes.

He grinned, seeing the love softening her gaze. "Marry me," He took out the ring and held it up.

Elizabeth sat up straight, staring at he ring in disbelief. "L-lucky…are you serious?"

"I wouldn’t have asked if I wasn’t. So, will you marry me?"

Her eyes were flooding over with tears of happiness. "Yes. Yes Lucky. I’ll marry you."

The young couple happily embraced. Lucky slipped the ring onto her finger, looking forward to making her Mrs. Lucas Lorenzo Spencer Jr.

"I love you Elizabeth. I promise that we’ll never be apart again."

"I’m holding you to that mister," She hopped off his lap.

"Hey, where are you going?" He reached out for her, but she backed up. "To tell your parents the happy news. We also have to tell Nikolas and Emily! Not to mention Grams!"

Lucky laughed, enjoying Elizabeth’s enthusiasm. "I’m coming sweetie," Lucky got to his feet and joined his fiancée in the walk to his parent’s house.

Elizabeth looked at Lucky and smiled. When she had first come to Port Charles, she was in the search for her own happiness. Wishing for someone that could see past the make-up, clothes, and her low self-esteem. And she had found that person. She found him in Lucky. He was her happiness. He saw the girl she truly was, right from the start. From the first meeting at Kelly’s to the night of the rape. He had refused to let her sink in a ocean of her own despair.

So her search of happiness was now over and the future loomed ahead. Bright and full of love.
