Epilogue

Lucky and Nikolas nearly collide into each other as they rush to share the news with each other.

“I have a boy!” Nikolas jumped up and down with excitement.

“Twins!  A boy and a girl!” Lucky grinned as Nikolas’s eyes grew wide with surprise.

          “Did you just say twins?”

Lucky nodded.  “Believe me, I’m as surprised as you are.”

“Wow.  That means I’ll have to call and set up another trust fund,” Nikolas stroked his chin thoughtfully.

          “What?”

“Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you.  Gia and I discussed it and we decided to start up a trust fund for collage.  If they don’t want to go to collage, that’s fine too, but they’ll have to wait until they’re twenty-one to receive the money.”

“Nikolas…I…I don’t know what to say,” Lucky stammered.  “Thank you…from all four of us.”

“Hey, we’re family.  That’s what family does for one another.”

“Nikolas!” Gia called.  “We need you!  Marcus Lucky Cassadine wants his daddy!”

“Coming!” Nikolas grinned.  He couldn’t help but laugh at the shocked expression on Lucky’s face.  “Don’t look so shocked man.”

“You better get in there,” Lucky laughed.

“Later bro,” Nikolas disappeared back the way he had come.

Lucky returned to Elizabeth to find her holding a baby in each arm.

“There’s daddy,” She cooed to the sleeping twins.  “So did you see Nikolas?”

Lucky nodded.  “A baby boy.  Marcus Lucky Cassadine.”
Elizabeth’s eyes widened in shock.  “What did he say when you told him about Audrey Ruby and Jonathan Nikolas Spencer?”

“I didn’t get a chance to tell him.  Oh get this, he also started a trust fund for the twins.”

“He didn’t have to do that.”
“He wanted to.  He feels like it’s his way of making up for Helena.”

“Lucky…whatever happened to her body?  It’s like she disappeared into thin air.”

“Well dad said Sonny had her cremated.  He stood there and watched.  They both wanted to make sure she was good and dead this time.”

Elizabeth shivered.  “Well I’m glad she’s gone for good.  After all she’s done to us…after what she did to Gram…”

“If it wasn’t for you, I’d still be her prisoner right now.  You gave me the strength to beat her.  I love you so much for that Elizabeth.  I love you for that and more.”

“I promise to always be here for you Lucky.  For you and our children,” Elizabeth smiled.  “I love you so much.”
“I’ll always be here for you too sweetie.  I promise.”

Taking a baby in one arm and Elizabeth in another, Lucky leaned back against the headboard.  Finally their dreams were coming true.  They were free of Helena at last.  Life on the run was no longer necessary.  They could now raise their children I the love and security of family.  The future was bright and full of dreams that could never be broken.
