Laura shook her head as she once again dialed Luke’s cell phone number and got no answer. She had wanted to check up on Luke. Not only to talk some sense into him, but to see if he was ok. She knew how much he had cared for Faith and how hard he must be taking her murder. Sadly, he hadn’t answered any of his phones or nor returned her calls. She couldn’t help but to`` be worried.

"No answer?" Nikolas asked, hating to see his mother on edge like this. He didn’t like Luke, but Lucky and Laura loved him. Therefore, making Nikolas care about his welfare as well.

"Something’s wrong. I can feel it," Laura sighed anxiously. "This isn’t like Luke. He always answers his phones and return calls. Without fail."

"Do you want me to go looking for him?" Nikolas offered, wanting to help.

"Would you?"

Nikolas nodded, kissing his mother lightly. "I’ll be right back."

Laura watched him go, deeply worried. Hopefully she wasn’t sending her eldest son into any danger. She hoped that he would find a reasonable explanation for Luke’s disappearance and come back home in one piece.

Nikolas began his search for Luke back at the cottage. Maybe the elder Spencer was spending some quality time with Portia. Comforting her over Faith’s death. Heading upstairs, he noticed the door to Portia’s room was closed, but when he pressed his ear against the door, all he could hear was silence. Frowning, Nikolas opened the door, troubled by the still silence from within.

Normally, Nikolas wasn’t a nosey guy. He was always sure to respect everyone’s privacy. But something moved him to enter Portia’s room. An urgency that seemed to grow stronger by the minute.

Turning a round, Nikolas began to search for clues to Portia’s evil plans. He knew had them somewhere in her room. He didn’t have to search for long. He soon found her journal under her mattress, just waiting for someone to come read it.

"Well well well. Look at what I found," Nikolas grinned in satisfaction. Finally! Something solid to go by. Opening the book, he read and read, learning not only about his newly found cousin, but her evil plan as well.

Nikolas was actually horrified by what he read. Portia was more evil then he had originally thought. She was deranged. He knew now that Luke was in serious trouble. The eldest Spencer was going to need help getting out of this one. It was too bad that Luke hadn’t believed him and Lucky before . Now he was paying for his faith in a daughter he never knew.

"Damn it Luke. Why couldn’t you have just listened to Lucky?" Nikolas closed the book, knowing what he was going to have to do next. Even though he hated the thought of Lucky going into danger, he knew that there was no choice.

Quickly, he made his way to Wyndemere, where he found Lucky and Elizabeth wandering the south garden. The couple seemed to be in their own little world. Lucky’s arms were wrapped around Elizabeth’s shoulders, holding her as if he was shielding her from the evil surrounding Port Charles at the moment. The evil that had almost killed her. The evil that would kill Luke if they didn’t hurry.

"Lucky!" Nikolas ran into the garden, the diary clutched in his hand.

"What?" Lucky frowned, turning to face his brother, who looked like he had just ran a marathon. "What is it?"

"We have to find Luke. She’s going to kill him if we don’t," Nikolas waved the diary at his brother. "Read this, the last two entries. They tell all."

Taking the book from his brother, Lucky read:

Dear Diary,

My mother is indeed a slut. Just like Grandmother said. I regret saving her life. If I had known that she would go and sleep with Luke Spencer, I would have allowed Grandmother to do away with her. But no. I went and saved her whoring life. Oh well, I’ll just have to rectify the matter. The next victim of the dockside murders…my own mother.

Portia

"Oh my god…she’s sick," Elizabeth looked at Lucky, fearful for his safety. If Portia could do this to her own mother, what would she do to her brother?

"There’s more," Lucky read on to the last entry:

Dear Diary, my father is a fool. He honestly thinks that my brother Lucky(the only tolerable Spencer, in my opinion. Too bad I had to frame him for the murders) Killed my mother. Lucky could never do such a thing. He’s too noble. Now it’s time to enact the finale stage of my plan. Take my father to the scene of his crime and make him pay for what he’s done to my family.

Portia

"The scene of his crime?" Elizabeth frowned, confused. "What is she talking about?"

Nikolas and Lucky looked at one another with a sinking feeling. They both knew what that scene was. "The Campus Disco," they answered in unison.

"I have to go after him," Lucky closed the book and handed it to his brother. "She’ll kill him if we don’t stop her."

"Lucky wait! We should get the police. Portia…she’s mad! She’ll kill you if you get in the way," Elizabeth grabbed his arm, trying to keep back the tears at the thought of Lucky’s death.

"Elizabeth, I have to go. He’s my dad, besides, there’s no time for the police. Who knows how long he’s been with her. He could be dead already," Lucky rubbed her arms, feeling bad for putting her through this. But there was no other choice. Despite Luke’s recent lack of faith, Lucky still loved him and didn’t want to see him dead.

"I’m coming with you then," Elizabeth sniffed, determination in her eyes. She knew that he was going to try to talk her out of it, but she wouldn’t let him. He wasn’t going into the lion’s den without her.

"Elizabeth no. I just got you away from her. I’m not going to put you back in the line of fire," Lucky protested.

"Lucky, you have no choice. I’m going. Whether you like it or not. We do things together for now on."

"I’ll call the police from the car," Nikolas changed the subject. Lucky was never going to change Elizabeth’s mind and there was no time for arguments.

"Ok, fine. But stay behind me as much as possible," Lucky sighed, praying that he wasn’t making a mistake. If anything happened to Elizabeth…he’ll die from the heartbreak alone.
