Elizabeth nervously paced the small apartment that she shared with Lucky, awaiting his return. She’s been waiting for him for five hours now, but he had yet to show up. She wrung her hands as she remembered the hurt in his eyes…the pain in his voice. She’d do anything to take the hurt away. Anything to see him smile once again.

Lucky sighed tiredly as he unlocked the door. It had been a long, horrible day. To find out that the people who were supposed to love him the most didn’t trust him, plus he didn’t trust himself. If his memory didn’t return soon…he didn’t know what he was going to do.

He walked in to find Elizabeth extremely worried and like she had lost her best friend. Closing the door, he decided to try to talk things over. He didn’t want to lose her over this. He loved her.

"Elizabeth," he placed his hands on her shoulder. Stopping her pacing, Elizabeth turned to face him, tears and love in her eyes. His heart filled with love and forgiveness pulled her against him, whispering words of love and forgiveness.

"I’m sorry Lucky," Elizabeth sighed. "I didn’t want to upset you. We were just so worried…and scared."

"It’s ok, Elizabeth. I understand, and I forgive the both of you. In fact, there’s really nothing to forgive. I asked both of you to keep an eye on my behavior and that’s what you were doing."

Elizabeth sniffed back her tears and laid her head against Lucky’s chest, listening to his strong heartbeat. She closed her eyes, wishing that she could get even closer to him. "You have my heart Lucky. That’s a permanent lock."

"Everything I am is in love with you," Lucky sighed, stroking her hair.

She pulled away a little to look into his eyes, wanting him to see how much she loved him, all the while still wanting to be closer to him. "Lucky…I…I think I’m ready," the admission surprised her. She hadn’t given much thought to sleeping with Lucky for a while. But now, after all this time…she wanted more then just hugs and kisses. She wanted more then his attention. She wanted Lucky. In every way possible.

Lucky looked at her in disbelief, bot able to believe what he had just heard. Elizabeth was ready to take their relationship to the next level? Under normal circumstances, he would have been ecstatic about this announcement. But he couldn’t help being concerned. Did she really want this? Or was she trying to make up for her earlier suspicions?"

"Baby…you don’t have to do this. Everything’s good between us."

Elizabeth smiled, touched by his concern for her state of mind. But she had thought about it, and sleeping with Lucky was truly what she wanted. More then anything. She tenderly touched his cheek and looked deeply into his eyes, wanting to communicate that this was what she wanted. "I want this Lucky. More then ever. I want to be with you. Tonight."

"Well…since you insist…ok. If this is really what you want. But if at anytime, you want me to stop…. Let me know and I will. Ok?"

Elizabeth nodded quickly before pressing her lips tightly to his. "I need you Lucky," She whispered as she came up for air. Her need for him, overwhelming. This felt so right. It was like she was coming home.

Lucky tightened his embrace, wanting to be as gentle and loving with her as possible. He loved her. He always knew that. But he had never known the security and safety as he felt in her arms at that moment. In her arms was where he belonged. Nowhere else.

Basking in the afterglow of their lovemaking, Elizabeth laid awake, stroking Lucky’s light brown hair. He looked like an angel to her. Young and serene. At peace for the first time in months. She wanted him to be at peace more often. She never wanted him to fee pain or fear ever again. Silently, she swore to both him and herself that she’d protect him from anything and anyone that was he and his family. No matter the risk to herself.
