Elizabeth
stared into his eyes, never wanting the moment to end. She was happy just
drawing in those blue pools of passion, all directed for her. She leaned into
his embrace and rested her head against his chest and listened to the strong
and sure beat of his heart. Nothing bad was between them and she was pretty
sure there never would be. She looked behind him and saw Luke and Laura smiling
happily and behind her stood Roy and Alexis, pride and joy in their gaze. Emily
and Zander stood to her left and Nikolas and Gia was to the right. Everyone was
happy at last. Closing her eyes, she breathed in the scent of his cologne and
basked in the heat of his presence. That was when the fog rolled in. Thick and
choking. Swallowing them all up into it’s white embrace, engulfing them in bone
shattering cold.
Elizabeth
shivered and tried to snuggle closer to Lucky, but to her horror, he was no
longer there. She was met with empty cold space.
"Lucky?"
She looked about, but wasn’t able to see anything. "Lucky?!"
Laughter
rang out, cold and shrill and evil and she knew who ever had that laugh had
Lucky. She reached out, grasping through the blinding fog, trying to find him,
any sign. Suddenly her hand clasped around another hand, warm and inviting. She
sighed in relief. She found him at last.
"Lucky
thank god!" She breathed, not bothering to cover her terror.
"This
isn’t Lucky dollface," A sickenly familiar voice chuckled, pulling her
close in a bone crushing embrace. "Not a word."
Elizabeth
screamed as she stared up into the cold gaze of her rapist.
"NO!!!
LUCKY!!!" She screamed. "LUCKY!!!"
"Lucky!"
She sat upright in her bed. Looking around she thought she was still in the
dream until the sound of Zander calling her name brought her back to reality.
Soon her brother was through the door and she was in his embrace.
"Shhh
Liz. It was a nightmare," Zander rocked his sobbing sister, kicking
himself for leaving the room for even a moment. He should have known she would
wake up.
"Lucky
was here Zander," Elizabeth sobbed. "He was here and we were all
happy. You were with Emily and Nikolas was with Gia and everyone was so happy.
And then…the fog…it took him away and brought Tom! And I couldn’t find Lucky
and Tom wouldn’t let me go!"
"Shhh
Liz. It was just a dream. Tom’s not here. It’s just you, me and Alexis. Plus
Sonny’s guards and Stephan’s gaurds. You’re safe. Tom Baker doesn’t have a
prayer of getting to you," Zander tried to calm his sister down. "I
won’t let Tom hurt you."
"But
Lucky…he…he always looked out for me. And now he’s in trouble and there’s
nothing I can do,"
"Luke and the others are out looking for him and they’re going to find
him. What you have to do is get some rest so you won’t be too exhausted when he
comes home. Ok? Can you do that?"
"Ok,"
Elizabeth nodded, leaning back into the the mattress. She knew arguing with
Zander would do no good.
"I’ll
be right outside that door if you need anything."
"Ok
Zander. You can go now," Elizabeth sighed, closing her eyes.
Taking one
last look at his sister Zander stepped out into the living room to find Luke,
Sonny, and Robert huddled together. He frowned. The three men were supposed to
be out looking for Lucky and Chance. "What are you doing here?"
Luke turned
around and Zander took a step back. The man looked incredibly old and tired. He
had never seen the vibrant, eccentric Luke Spencer look in such a way before.
"We lost the trail. No sign of Helena or of Lucky and Chance."
"Elizabeth
is getting worse. She’s having nightmares now," Zander paced. "You
have to find Lucky and soon. I don’t know how much longer she can hold on like
this."
"What
do we do now Luke?" Robert asked. "That witch has my son and I want
him back."
"Her
finances. We trace her finances," Luke growled.
"Might
not work this time. She knows all your tricks Luke," Sonny sighed.
"Well
I’m going to have to try something! Cowboy is counting on me. I’ve let him down
once. I’m not doing it again!"
"Alexis,
your desktop. Where is it?" Sonny asked.
"Follow
me," She led the men into her tiny office upstairs. Leaving Zander to
brood over the situation. He was so afraid that he was going to lose his sister
just when he found her.
Out in the
North Atlantic water, Helena’s private ship sailed. They laid anchor and just
sat. Helena stood outside, her wool coat wrapped tightly around her. She stared
out at the stars and smiled dreamily. She’s interrupted by Sarah who had
accompanied her on the trip.
"So how
is things going down there my dear?" Helena turned to the younger woman.
"Great.
Lucky is almost finished. Soon he’ll have eyes for no one but you Madame,"
Sarah smiled slightly, still wishing it was her that her boss was brainwashing
Lucky to be with. That would really hurt Lizzie then. Knowing that her handsome
loving husband now loved the perfect sister.
"Good.
Good. My dear…you deserve an reward for what you’ve done for me thus far. I was
thinking…how about your dear sister’s newly found brother? He is of course her
last shoulder to cry on now that Lucky’s gone. What do you say? I know not as
good as Lucky, but still…"
Sarah smiled
evilly. "That is a great idea."
