Nikolas sets at his table in his cottage deep in thought. He now knew for sure that Lucky and Elizabeth were still alive. The problem was finding out who was responsible, and where they were holding Lucky. Emily was on her way over. They had planned a brainstorming session. Going over the list of enemies that the Spencers had and any enemies that might have it out for just Lucky.

Nikolas jumps at the sound of the doorbell, thinking it was Emily he rushes to the door and opens it to Katherine who’s holding a box from the bakery.

"I thought these croissants from the bakery will cheer you up," Katherine smiles.

"Uh…thank you," Nikolas takes the box from her, not surprised when she follows him into the kitchen. She’s surprised to see eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes, sausage, everything layed out on the kitchen table.

"Looks like you’ve prepared a feast," Katherine smiles.

"Nikolas?! Are you here?!" Emily’s voice floats through the cottage.

"In here Em!"

Emily’s smile fades when she sees Katherine. "Oh. I thought it was just going to be us. I didn’t know you had company."

"Oh Katherine was just dropping off these croissants. She wasn’t staying," Nikolas clears his throat. "I’ll see you in the office Monday?"

Katherine’s not pleased. She doesn’t bother to hide the displeasure in her voice. "Of course. I’ll call later."
"Ok," Nikolas nods as Katherine leaves.

"She didn’t look too happy," Emily replied.

"I’ll talk to her later. Right now finding my brother is more important than Katherine’s hurt feelings."

"Ok. I’ve been thinking, who would have a reason for kidnapping Lucky and Liz and I came up with one answer. Tom Baker. He was Liz’s rapist, and Lucky did attack him in the courtroom."

"And he’s still in jail," Nikolas sighs. "I already called Taggert just to confirm it."

"Oh. There goes that idea. Now what?"

"Is there anyone else that would have it out for Lucky?"

"You."

Nikolas throws her a dirty look and she giggles.

"But that was a long time ago. It wouldn’t be Stefan would? Another way to get Laura?"

"No. He knows how much Lucky means to me, plus he’d rescue Lucky for Laura. Not kidnap him."

"Well my mind is blank. I have no clue….Oh my God."

"What?"

"Nikolas…the answer…it’s so simple…obvious reason. This has nothing to do with Lucky and Liz at all. It more has to do with Luke. Are you thinking what I’m thinking?"

"Helena."

Emily nods. "What a perfect way to get even with the man you believed kill your son. Take his and make him believe he’s dead."

"Elizabeth just got caught in the crossfire," Nikolas nods, realization dawning on him."

"Oh my god. What are we going to do?"

"Well first we need proof," Nikolas stands up and paces the floor. "We need her saying that she has them."

"Well how are we going to get that? She’ll deny it if we ask her."

"…We’re going to have to break into her computer bank. Get a list of all her properites, accounts, etc. See which one’s in use and trace them. One of them must lead to Lucky and Liz. Plus I’ll bug her phone. Maybe that will lead to a confession and the location where she’s keeping them. Let me go visit Stefan to get what we need and I’ll be right back to get it set up."

"Nikolas…I hope this leads us to what really happened…but if it does turn up that Lucky and Liz are really dead…"

"I’ll be okay. But I don’t want to accept it unless I’m sure."

"Ok then. Let’s get started."

Elizabeth sets on her bed, staring at the wall, bored out of her mind. She can’t help but wonder what everyone in port charles was doing…what was Lucky doing? Did he know she was here? Was he scared? Was he hurt? Would she ever see him again? She jumps as the door opens and Helena appears in the doorway.

"You have a visitor," The old woman smiles evilly.

Elizabeth sets up just as two guards escort Lucky into the room.

"Lucky!" Elizabeth cried, flying off the bed and into his arms.

"Elizabeth!" Lucky holds her tightly, as if he lets go she’ll disappear.

"Did they hurt you?"

"No I’m fine," Lucky strokes her hair and kisses her passionately.

"Ah young love," Helena cooed. "Reminds me of myself and my beloved Mikkkos."

"I should have known you had something to do with this," Lucky glares openly at Helena.

"Why of course Lucky. Did you really believe that Faison would go through all that trouble just for a couple of diamonds your father stole from him?" Helena laughed. "No. Your father took my son away from me, so I took his. Your little girlfriend here is just along for the ride. Enjoy your time together my dears. Like I told your girlfriend yesterday, behave yourselves and I may see it fit to keep you two in the same room," Helena smiles before leaving, locking the door behind her.

"Oh Lucky I was so scared," Elizabeth began to cry. "I couldn’t find you anywhere and the nightmares came back last night…"

"The rape?" Lucky asked.

Elizabeth just nods.

"Oh Elizabeth," He pulls her into another hug. "I’m sorry. This is all my fault. If we weren’t dating this would never have happened. You’d be at home right now instead of stuck in here with me."

"But there’s nowhere else I’d rather be Lucky, but right here with you. I don’t want to think about being one of the people left behind, thinking you were dead."

"Most of the people. Something’s telling me that someone doesn’t believe it. That right now someone’s looking for us and will get us out of this."

"But who Lucky? I saw everyone at our memorial service, dressed in black. Everyone except Stefan and maybe Nikolas was devastated."

Lucky’s eyes widen. Nikolas? Why wasn’t Nikolas devastated, they’ve become so close during the past couple of months. Not that he wanted his brother distraught, but he couldn’t help thinking it strange. Plus last night, when he had thought he heard Nikolas telling him that help was on the way…what was going on here?

"Lucky? Are you okay?"

"Nikolas…do you think Nikolas believes we’re dead? I mean we became pretty close during the past couple of months…do you think we may have formed some sort of connection or something?"

Elizabeth shrugs. "It’s possible. I mean, Sarah and I we sort of have a connection too."

"Nikolas…" Lucky thoughtfully replied. "If he suspects that we’re alive, I hope the first suspect is his grandmother."

Nikolas enters wyndemere when it comes slamming into him. "Helena," a slightly familiar voice practically yells in his head, stopping him in his tracks. The voice was Lucky’s. "Helena," Nikolas nods. "I knew it."

"Nikolas! What a pleasant surprise!" Stefan exits his office and tightly hugs his son.

"Stefan, this isn’t a social call. I came to ask something of you."

"What is it son? Whatever it is, it’s yours."

"Supplies to bug Helena’s yacht and keep tabs on her. Please Stefan…this is important," Nikolas pleads with his eyes.

"May I ask why you want these things? Why the sudden interest in your grandmother’s activities?"

Nikolas takes a deep breath, ready to argue his case with his father. "I have reason to believe that she’s faked Lucky and Elizabeth’s deaths to get even with Luke Spencer."
"What? What makes you believe this?"

"It’s hard to explain, but I know for a fact that my brother isn’t dead and that it’s Helena that took him. Please Stefan…this means a lot to me. I can’t set by and let her do whatever she wants to my brother and my best friend. Please…"

Stefan sighed. He didn’t want Nikolas involved in busting any case Helena has started, but he didn't want him to go to Luke Spencer for help either, which Stefan knew he would if he didn’t give his help."

"Ok Nikolas. I will help. I’ll have the supplies delivered to you this afternoon. I suggest you plant the bugs in the early morning. Helena’s a late sleeper. The best place to bug is her bed room, her living room and the deck of the yacht. If there’s anything else I can help you with…just let me know."

"Thank you Stefan. This means a lot to both me and Lucky," Nikolas gratefully hugs his father.

‘Don’t worry Lucky. Just hang on’ he sends another thought out to whereever his brother may be, hoping that it’ll give him some comfort.

Lucky and Elizabeth lay close together on Elizabeth’s bed when the feeling of warmth and peace comes over Lucky. For the first time he feels like everything is going to be ok. That soon help will arrive.

"Everything will be ok Elizabeth. I’m sure of it," Lucky squeezes her shoulder, kissing her forehead. Elizabeth only nods in agreement. If Lucky said everything would be ok, everything would be.

Helena and Faison stand inside their secret room watching Lucky and Liz snuggled close together.

"The boy isn’t as hostile when he’s with the girl. I say we keep them in the same room. It’ll be easier to manipulate his mind."

"I agree my love. Lucky is more calm and layed back with the lovely Miss. Webber. Let’s just hope she’s as clueless as she looks. If not, we may have to discard her, and that would be a real pity…for such a young one," Helena runs a hand through Faison’s graying long hair. "Oh Faison, you are so much like my Mikkos…"

"And you…you match my black heart perfectly my love," Faison smiles. "Come to my bed tonight, instead of using that useless boy you like to flirt with. I can show you more pleasure that you can possibly dream of."

Helena laughs and pulls her hand away from Faison’s pursed lips. "We shall see my pet. After you’ve successfully turned Lucky Spencer against his parents and into my most loyal subject."

"But that can take years. All depending on how strong willed the boy is!"

"Well then it’ll be worth the wait won’t it?" Helena smiles seductively before slinking out of the room, leaving Cesar Faison more frustrated than he’s ever been over Anna Devane.

"No my Cherie…I will have you whether the boy turns or not," Faison smiles to himself and continues watching his young prisoners, who are blissfully unaware of what he has in store for them.
