"Robert? Robert scorpio?" Luke looked in disbelief at the man before him. "You’re dead."

"Really?" The man known as Robert mischievously grinned, his blue eyes glittering in amusement. "It doesn’t look that way to me. In fact, I look pretty spry for a corpse."

"Spry for a corpse…come here!" Luke embraced the friend he had thought was long dead. "You have some explaining to do Scorpio!"

Robert laughed. "Yes I do. But first, let’s go to a bar or somewhere I can get a good stiff drink."

"I know just the place," Luke grinned. "Follow me."

Fifteen minutes later, Luke and Robert are at the club, sharing a bottle of scotch. Robert looked around and nodded his approval.

"Nice place you’ve got here, mate."

"I thought you’d like it," Luke grinned. "So tell me…where have you been all this time? And what brings you back to these parts? Does Mac know you’re here?"

"He doesn’t have a clue," Robert stared down at his glass. "I’ve been in hiding Luke. I’ve been hiding from the WSB. They weren’t too happy with me at the time of the explosion. And now I’m back, because my wife’s murderer has been spotted in the Port Charles area, conversing with Helena Cassadine. I figured that whatever those two are conspiring together can’t be good. So I’ve come back to offer my help and expertise."

"Helena and Faison," Luke stroked his chin. "I wonder…"

"What’s going on mate? What is Helena up to now?"
Luke sat back and downed his a shot of scotch. "She ran my boy out of town."
Robert frowned. "I don’t understand."

So Luke told Robert about Helena kidnapping Lucky and Elizabeth, their rescue by Nikolas, and everything that had happened after that. "He won’t return until Helena’s good and dead," Luke downed another shot of the burning liquid.

"Faison’s paws are all over this," Robert crossed his arms. "Your son will come home Luke. Together, we will bring both Faison and Helena to their knees."

It’s been two weeks since the move to New York. Elizabeth and Emily were now in a comfortable routine. Since school didn’t start for another two weeks, the girls have been exploring the city, getting to know their way around, trying to keep their minds off of Lucky and Nikolas.

Today the girls were walking through Greenwich Village, enjoying the early afternoon. They’re crossing the street when she saw him at a stand where soft pretzels were being sold. He had his back turned to them and he was digging in his pockets for cash.

"Lucky," Elizabeth grabbed Emily’s arm. "Look Em, it’s Lucky!" Elizabeth pointed, her eyes lighting up with joy. "It’s over! He’s come for me!" She ran up to the boy who was taking a bite of pretzel and touched his arm. She was crushed with disappointment to find that it wasn’t Lucky after all.

"Oh. I’m sorry. I thought you were someone else," She stepped away and returned to Emily. "It wasn’t Lucky."

"I didn’t think it was. Lucky has a leaner build," Emily laid a symphetic hand on Elizabeth’s shoulder. "I’m sorry it wasn’t him."

"It’s just that…I miss him so much. At night I listen to his tape and wish it was him with me, singing my song."

"Everytime I see a Jag, I think it’s Nikolas. Come to take me with him…wherever he may be right now. Liz…do you really think we’ll see them again?"

Elizabeth nodded as they continued down the street. "Lucky promised. He always keeps his promises. We will see them again…I know it."

"Me too. I know it too," Emily agreed, her eyes tearing up. "We’ll see them again as soon as Helena’s dead."

Music filled the air as the young lovers spun around the room, their attention devoted to each other. Nothing would ever come between them. He was certain of that.

"I love you," her whisper came to him. Soft and warm. "Never leave me."

"Never," He pulled her closer, never wanting to let go ever again. "I love you Elizabeth."

He smiled into her blue gaze, wanting to lose himself.

"Come home," She pleaded, a tear leaking from her eyes.

"I…I can’t…Helena…"

Lucky gasped as he lost grip of her hand. She was being pulled away from him by some invisible force. They reached out for one another to no avail. She was getting further and further away.

"Elizabeth!" He cried out as she disappeared from view.

He awoke, sweaty and pale. He looked around the strange room he and Nikolas had been sharing for a week. He once again wondered when this living nightmare would end. He couldn’t stand being away from Elizabeth any longer. Getting out of bed, he went outside and stared up at the star-filled sky, wondering if she was looking up at the sky too.

"I promise you Elizabeth. I’ll be in New York with you soon and I’ll never leave your side again," Looking up one last time at the stars, Lucky went back inside and fell into a dreamless sleep.
