It was three weeks in Stefan’s search for Nikolas and finally he
had pinpointed where Helena was holding him. Silently he moved to the security
room first and took out the camera’s, but not before noting which room Nikolas
was in. Luckily, Helena had gone to join Faison for a couple of days in Europe
and was due back the next day. But by that time Nikolas will be home safe and
sound.
It didn’t take him long to find the room, a tall burly man stood
guard. Pulling out his gun, Stefan held it on the man.
"I’m just here for the boy. If you care for your life, you’ll
open the door and let him go."
"I can’t. Madame will have my head," The guard shook his
head.
"I’ll give you money and take you somewhere where my mother
will never find you. If you don’t do as I ask, I’ll take your life and open the
door anyway. Don’t be a fool."
Swallowing nervously, the guard turned and opened the door. Before
Stefan entered, he aimed the gun and shot the guard at the base of his skull,
killing him instantly. "There now, my mother won’t find you now. But she’ll
be there soon enough." Stefan slipped through the door and gasped at the
sight before him.
Laying on the bed, so thin and pale, breathing shallowly was his
precious Nikolas.
"My God. What did that witch do to you," Stefan rushed
to his side and knelt down to Nikolas’s side.
"Uncle?" Nikolas turned his head and held his eyes open
long enough to see Stefan’s face. "Is it really you?"
"I’m here Nikolas," Stefan touched Nikolas’s face.
"I’m here and I’m getting you out of here."
"L-Lucky…where’s L-Lucky?"
"In Port Charles safe and sound. Luke is taking care of him. Now I’m going
to take care of you. Can you walk?"
Nikolas swallowed and shook his head. "Too weak. Haven’t
eaten ever since escape."
"Shhh. It’s ok Nikolas. I’ll carry you," Stefan slipped
his arms under Nikolas’s legs and shoulders and lifted him off the bed, alarmed
at how light Nikolas was, Stefan rushed out of the room and through the
compound. Soon they’re on a helicopter heading for Port Charles.
Stefan grew even more alarmed when he looked down to see Nikolas’s
eyes closed, but felt relieved to find a pulse, faint but there. The boy was
sleeping. Taking a longer more thourough look at Nikolas, Stefan was horrified.
His once strong, muscular Nikolas was now a walking skeleton almost. His once
full face was now thin and almost hallow. His dark hair laid limply against his
head and his clothes barely stayed up on him.
"Oh Nikolas. What did she do to you? She will pay, I swear
it," Stefan tightened his grip on Nikolas and stared straight ahead,
determination in his eyes. Helena was going to pay for what she’s done. Even if
it meant joining ranks with his greatest enemy, he was going to make Helena
pay!
