Lucky, Luke, and Elizabeth all enter
the Police station, fearing what had been found out about the body. Lucky in particular didn’t have a good
feeling about all of this. He looked
around the station, noting how all the officers seemed so busy and didn’t even
notice that they had arrived. His eyes
widened in shock as his cousin Sly’s Aunt Jenny and her husband Paul came out
of the back room, tears pouring from Jenny’s eyes. Lucky frowned, remembering that Sly hadn’t been in school for the
past two days. Which was very unlike
him. Normally Sly never missed a
day. Even when he had the flu.
“What’s going on?” Elizabeth frowned
just as Jenny looked at Luke, or rather glared. She ran up and slapped Luke across the face.
“Wasn’t my brother enough for
you?! Did you have to get my nephew
killed as well?!” The distraught woman yelled, ignoring Mac’s attempts to quiet
her.
Paul grabbed her shoulders and pulled
her away from Luke. “Jenny, don’t do
this. It won’t help Sly.”
“Sly?
What happened to him?” Lucky frowned.
“Why hasn’t he been in school for the past couple of days?”
“Paul, get her out of here. I’ll deal with the Spencers,” Mac shooed the
grieving couple away. “Go on.”
Paul just nodded, holding his wife in
a tight grip. “We’ll be back to sign
the necessary papers.” That said, they
were gone. Mac turned to Luke and
sighed tiredly. “Well I’m glad you finally made it Luke. I believe I called about two and it’s four
now.”
“My kid had school. What do you expect?” Luke glared at the
commissioner. “Now Bubba, tell us who
that body was in Lucky’s room. We don’t
have all day to wait here doing nothing.”
“…The body in Lucky’s room…and the
reason Jenny just slapped you…well…the body is…or rather was…”
“Get on with it man!” Luke growled
impatiently.
“The body was Sly Eckert. Lucky’s cousin.”
Lucky’s face paled, tears appeared in
his blue eyes. “S-Sly? The body was Sly? But how? Why? He didn’t have a key to my room. Why would he have been there?”
“Tests show that he was killed a day
before the fire. Someone must have
dumped it in the apartment and set the place on fire.”
“Oh my God,” Elizabeth gasped, looking
over at Lucky. Even though she had
never met Sly herself, Lucky had told her all about them. They had practically grown up together once
Lucky reached Port Charles. She knew
how much his cousin meant to him.
“Oh no, not Sly,” Lucky’s voice was
low and full of grief. Tears leaked
from his eyes. “Not Sly…”
“Cowboy?” Luke looked at his son in
concern, knowing that this was probably tearing him apart.
Lucky just looked at Luke and
Elizabeth, his grief fogging everything.
They were concerned, he knew that, but he just couldn’t take it, the
look of sympathy, so he turned and ran.
Ran to the one place that he had the most memories of his cousin and as
far away from the police station and his father’s concerned questions as
possible.
“Lucky!” Luke called after him, not
wanting Lucky to be alone. The fire was
obviously a set up to get to Lucky and the perpetrator was still out there
somewhere. Probably planning how to
strike next.
“I’ll go after him,” Elizabeth headed
for the door, having an idea where Lucky might have gone. She too was worried. Something was obviously up, and she was
frightened that her Lucky could disappear and she would never find him again.
Luke just nodded and turned back to
Mac. “So. When are you going to arrest Helena?”
“Luke,” Mac sighed, frustrated. “We don’t know if it’s Helena. There’s no evidence that she had anything to
do with Sly’s death or the fire.”
“Bullshit Mac! We both know she did! The old bat has been after me for
years! She knows the perfect way to get
to me is to get to my son! She knows
how important he is to me! So she
kidnaps and kills Lucky’s cousin, who by the way has the same build and
features and plans the fire and replaces Lucky with his cousin’s dead corpse!”
“Luke…we don’t know that. And even if I did, there are still
procedures that I have to follow. I
can’t just go and lock her up on just suspicions.”
“The witch is out for my family’s
blood and you’re refusing to do anything about it.. I see Robert was the only real Scorpio around here. He would never give Helena a chance to
strike again, and I won’t give her the chance now. She attempted an attack on my family and it’s time she paid for
it,” Luke growled, storming out of the police station, ignoring Mac yelling for
him not to do anything illegal.
