Elizabeth collapsed on the nearby bed as she pulled the last of her bags up the stairs into the room. Sighing deeply, she opened her eyes and took in her surroundings. She frowned. The room looked like a boy’s room. She didn’t think Gia was into photography either. Photos of different locations around Port Charles hung on the wall. This must be Lucky’s room. She had brought her things in here by mistake. Lucky was really going to have a good laugh over this.

"So is this everything?" Lucky entered, placing her make-up supplies on the dresser.

"Lucky…don’t kill me; but I brought al my things in here not realizing that this was your room. Just give me five minutes to regroup and then point me in the direction of Gia’s room."

A blush deepened Lucky’s features as he nervously shifted from one foot to the other. "Uh…Elizabeth. Gia shares a room with Nikolas. You won’t be sharing a room with her," Lucky stammered.

"Oh. Well then…where will I be sleeping then?" Elizabeth blink in surprise.

"In here."

"And where will you sleep?"

Lucky breathed in deeply, not knowing what Elizabeth’s reaction will be. It was funny. A few years ago, this awkwardness wouldn’t have existed between them. But now, it choked the air out of the room.

"I’m sleeping in here too, Elizabeth; but on the floor of course."

"Lucky I don’t know…"

"It’s not like we’ve never shared a room before. It’ll be just like the old days. You remember. When I used to climb in your window and sleep on the floor," Lucky smiled, remembering those days.

Elizabeth had to smile also. They had been so young and niave then. Neither of them had even guessed the trials and tribulations they would be put through. "Oh alright. On one condition. We switch places every week."

"That’s fair," Lucky nodded, bouncing onto the bed with Elizabeth. "So…are you feeling better? I mean, you were pretty upset when we left Kelly’s."

"I’m fine now. It’s just that Kelly’s was beginning to feel like home. I was just getting back into a routine. I didn’t expect Jason to show up and ruin everything. I don’t know how I’m ever going to repay you for taking care of me like this. I mean, you have every reason to turn your back on me, but you haven’t."

"That’s because I love you. I never stopped, not once," Lucky met her eyes; the sincerety of his words shining through in his gentle gaze.

"I-I love you too Lucky. I now know that I always did. The thing with Jason…that was just infatuation. But my feelings for you had never disappeared. I was a fool for thinking that they had…" a tear fell from Elizabeth’s eye as she thought about how she had messed everything up.

"Shhh. Don’t think about what you had thought. Stay in the here and now. We’re back together. Our love still intact. Sure we have the trust issue, but that’s something we’re working on. Soon that’ll be back intact as well."

"You’re too good to me," Elizabeth sighed, leaning her head against Lucky’s shoulder. "I love you Lucky Spencer."

"I love you too Elizabeth," he kissed her gently. Surprisingly to both, the kiss never stopped. Soon they were under the blankets, wrapped in a passionate embrace, oblivious to the world outside.

Gia was just switching off the television when her fiancee came back down the stairs, looking stunned by something. He was supposed to have gone to check if Lucky and Elizabeth wanted anything to eat while they were out. Nikolas’s mouth was wide open and his eyes were glazed.

Gia looked at him impatiently. "Well? What did they want?"

"Uh…I didn’t ask them. They were preoccupied," Nikolas blinked, trying to forget what he had seen.

"Preoccupied? With what?" Gia frowned.

"Baby think. What do two people in love do when they’re alone together?" Nikolas sighed.

"Oh," Gia’s eyes widened in shock and amusement. "What did they say?"

"…Well…they were all ready finished. But they were wrapped in each other’s arms, completely nude under the blanket, sound asleep."

Gia had to giggle. Nikolas looked absolutely mortified. Nikolas only glared at her, not really happy with this latest development. In his opinion, Lucky was making a big mistake opening his heart back up to Elizabeth. But it was Lucky’s life, Lucky’s decision. There was nothing Nikolas could do to protect his brother if his brother didn’t want to be protected.

"Let’s go. I want to get back before it’s too late," Nikolas grabbed his coat and walked out, leaving Gia to lock the door behind them.
